Motel Beds are an indie rock band from Dayton, Ohio. [2]

History

The band was initially formed in the early 2000s by singer P.J. Paslosky, guitarist Tommy Cooper and drummer Ian Kaplan. [2] The band went on hiatus soon after but reformed in 2008. [2]

Their first release with Misra Records was These Are the Days Gone By, a collection of previously released tracks which were remastered by Carl Saff along with two unreleased tracks. [3] The album features "Tropics of the Sand" with Kelley Deal of The Breeders and a cover of Matthew Sweet's "I've Been Waiting". [4]

After leaving Misra, they recorded Mind Glitter for Anyway Records [5] and album PopMatters called "their best album to date." [6]

Currently there are four members of the group: Josh Jones, Kyle Davis, Austin Stephens (drums) and Todd Jackson (guitar). Their music is renowned for its energy and unabashed enthusiasm. Their 2006 debut album, So Gone issued by Misra Records, received an 8.1/10 score from Pitchfork Media. They are currently signed to Dead Oceans Records. In January 2008 they released The Evening Descends, which scored 8.3 from Pitchfork.

Only the Lonely (The Motels song) 1982 single by The Motels

"Only the Lonely" is a song by American new wave band The Motels. It was released in 1982 as the first single from their third studio album All Four One. Propelled by a popular music video, it debuted at number 90 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on April 24, 1982. It would ultimately climb to number 9 on July 17 of that year where it spent four weeks in that position. On the U.S. Cash Box Top 100, it performed slightly better, peaking at number 8 for two weeks. The song is included in the 2006 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories in the fictional power ballad radio station Emotion 98.3.

Centre City Building United States historic place

The Centre City Building is an historic building at 36-44 South Main Street at the corner of East Fourth Street in downtown Dayton, Ohio. It was designed by Charles Herby and built in 1904 by the F.A. Requarth Co. for the sum of $305,000 as the headquarters of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ Christian denomination. Originally 14 stories, it was the tallest building in Dayton from 1904 until 1931. A 7-story tower portion was completed in 1927, capped by a chapel for the Church, making it 21 stories total. It is considered to have been Dayton's first skyscraper.

"The Wagon" is a song by alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr., released on their 1990 album Green Mind. Featuring lyrics inspired by the band's use of station wagons for transportation in its early days, the song was written by J Mascis and was one of the three songs on Green Mind to include drummer Murph.

Shamir Bailey, known mononymously as Shamir, is an American singer, songwriter and actor from Las Vegas, Nevada. His debut extended play (EP), Northtown, was released in June 2014 to positive reviews. In October 2014, he signed to XL Recordings and released the single "On the Regular". His debut LP Ratchet was released on May 19, 2015 in the United States. Ensuing albums include Revelations (2017) and Resolution (2018).

Crooks On Tape is an indie rock band founded by John Schmersal, Rick Lee, and drummer Joey Galvan. Schmersal and Lee played together in Enon and began recording improvisational music with Galvan in 2010. Dayton, Ohio indie label Misra Records released the band's debut album "Fingerprint" in 2013. Edited into a tight 35 minutes from "hundreds of hours of material," the band's official bio likens the band's electro-punk sound to "tiny snapshots of an altered crime scene."

Gone Now is the second studio album by American indie pop act Bleachers, released on June 2, 2017. The album deals with the difficulties of growing old as well as struggling with losing people in life, told over the course of day and a lifetime. It takes inspiration from the pop sounds of the '80s, mixed with a modern view.
