The MotoCzysz E1pc is the American motorcycle manufacturer MotoCzysz's electric motorcycle that won the 2010 TT Zero electric motorcycle race at the Isle of Man TT competition breaking the previous speed record. [1]
Michael Czysz said in an interview on the history of this electric motorcycle: [2]
"In less than five months we took a suggestion and turned it into a motorcycle.
"A motorcycle that is unlike anything I have ever ridden. No gas, no oil, no clutch, no need to even warm up the engine – no engine.
"Gone is the age-old ritual of rhythmical throttle blips that can audible seduce a motorcyclist into a pre-ride trance – now your bike waits for you. Enter what may be the next big thing in motorcycles; invisible, nearly silent and magically linear power."

The MotoCzysz E1pc is described as having "10 times the battery capacity of a Toyota Prius and 2.5 times the torque of a Ducati 1198 [in] a package that looks like something out of a 24th-century Thunderdome." [4] The E1pc is powered by "10 individual lithium polymer cells that each weigh 19.5 Lbs (8.85 KG) and produce 12.5 kWh" and operates close to the maximum allowable 500 volts system. The motive force is provided by a "DC internal permanent magnet motor [called] 'D1g1tal Dr1ve' [and is] small enough to hide within the swingarm beneath the rear shock." The motor is oil-cooled developing 100 HP (75.6 KW) and 250 Lb-Ft (339 Nm) of torque, continuously. [4]
In June 2009, Mark Miller rode the E1pc in the TTXGP race on the 37.733-mile (60.725 km) mountain course of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy but did not finish the race. [5] [6]
On June 10, 2010, US racer Mark Miller won the TT Zero race on the same course riding a redesigned E1pc [4] with a time of 23 minutes 22.89 seconds and an average speed of 96.820 mph. [1] Beyond the electric motorcycle technical accomplishment, this is "the first time an American-made bike has won a race at the Isle of Man since Indian debuted a two-speed gearbox in 1911," ridden by Briton Oliver Cyril Godfrey, "and only the second time an American rider has finished first there." On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, Michael Rutter and Team Segway Racing MotoCzysz made history on the Isle of Man by becoming the first team to record a 100 mph lap of the course in the SES TT Zero race in what is being hailed as one of the greatest achievements in the event's one hundred and five-year history. [8] Rutter crossed the line in 21:45.33 (104.056 mph) closely followed by John McGuinness on the Team Mugen Shinden machine. Rutter's MotoCzysz teammate Mark Miller finished third, with all three breaking the prestigious 100 mph mark, which was first achieved in 1957 by Scotsman Bob McIntyre on a conventional bike.

Mugen Motorsports (無限), legally known as M-TEC Company, Ltd., is a Japanese company formed in 1973 by Hirotoshi Honda, the son of Honda Motor Company founder Soichiro Honda, and Masao Kimura. MotoCzysz was an American motorcycle company based in Portland, Oregon that intended to compete in MotoGP. The C1 prototype engine was designed with perfect balance not needing a balance shaft. Some of the patented innovations included a slipper clutch with twin clutches, and a unique front suspension. The business also developed a successful electric racing motorcycle, the E1pc.

He has a reputation for being at his best in wet conditions and his favourite circuit is Oulton Park. He won 29 British Superbike Championship races with the most recent being at Silverstone in 2010, and finished as series runner-up twice. He has also contested MotoGP and World Superbike Championship events.

The 2010 Isle of Man TT Races included the one-lap TT Zero for racing motorcycles "to be powered without the use of carbon based fuels and have zero toxic/noxious emissions." which replaced the TTXGP and also a Suzuki 50th Anniversary Lap of Honour and the TT Classic Parade which were held before the main Senior TT race.
TT Zero – an electric motorsport event introduced for the 2010 Isle of Man TT races – replaced the similar TTXGP race as a 1-lap circuit of the Snaefell Mountain Course. The TT Zero event as an officially sanctioned Isle of Man TT race is for racing motorcycles where "The technical concept is for motorcycles to be powered without the use of carbon based fuels and have zero toxic/noxious emissions." The Isle of Man Government offered a prize of £10,000 for the first entrant to exceed the prestigious 100 mph average speed around the Mountain Course.

The 2011 Isle of Man TT Festival also included the Pre-TT Classic Races on 27, 28 and 30 May 2011 and the Post-TT Races on 11 June 2011 and both events held on the Billown Circuit.

She is the current female Isle of Man TT lap record holder, breaking the record during her first ever TT in 2009 and gaining a Guinness World Record for this achievement. She then re-broke her own lap record during her second TT in 2010, with an average lap speed of 119.945 mph, gaining another Guinness World Record.

The 2013 Isle of Man TT Races were held between the Saturday 25 May and Friday 7 June 2013 on the 37.73-mile Isle of Man TT Mountain Course in the Isle of Man. The event celebrated the 90th anniversary of the first Sidecar TT with a special parade lap for racing sidecar outfits. The 2013 Isle of Man TT Festival also included the Pre-TT Classic Races on 24, 25 & 27 May 2013 and the Post-TT Races on 8 June 2013 and both events held on the Billown Circuit.
Electric motorsport is a category of motor sport that consists of the racing of electric powered vehicles for competition, either in all-electric series, or in open-series against vehicles with different power trains.
