Chervonohrad Speedway Stadium or Mototrek Hirnyk is a motorcycle speedway stadium in the east of Chervonohrad. It is located on the Pushkina Street. [1] It is one of three active tracks in Ukraine, along with SKA Stadium and Rivne Speedway Stadium.

History

The venue hosted the speedway team Shakhtar Chervonograd who competed in several European Speedway Club Champions' Cup events. [2]

The stadium has hosted significant speedway events including semi-finals of the 2010 Team Speedway Junior European Championship and 2011 Team Speedway Junior European Championship, a qualifying round of the 2011 Speedway Under-21 World Championship, [3] a semi final of the 2012 Speedway Under-21 World Championship and a semi-final of the 2013 Speedway European Championship. [4]

In 2023, the track hosted an event to celebrate Coal Miner's Day in Ukraine and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine engaged in action against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. [5]

Shakhtar Chervonograd

The speedway team Shakhtar Chervonograd competed in the European Speedway Club Champions' Cup in 2010 and 2011. [6] The team also participated in the 2008 Russian Team Speedway Championship. [7] [8]

The 2010–11 Ukrainian Premier League season was the 20th since its establishment and third since its reorganization. Shakhtar Donetsk were the defending champions, having won their 5th league title. A total of sixteen teams participated in the competition, fourteen of them contested the 2009–10 season while the remaining two were promoted from the Ukrainian First League.

The 2011 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the seventh FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 3 September, 2011 at Balakovo in Russia. It was the first final in Russia. The defending Champions were Denmark.

The 2011 Ukrainian Cup Final was a football match that was played at the Yuvileiny Stadium, Sumy, on 25 May 2011. The match was the 20th Ukrainian Cup Final and was contested by Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk. This was the first time a Ukrainian Cup final was played in Sumy.

The 2011–12 Ukrainian Premier League season was the 21st since its establishment and fourth since its reorganisation. The season began on 8 July 2011 when newly promoted PFC Oleksandria visited FC Vorskla Poltava. FC Shakhtar Donetsk were the defending champions, having won their 6th league title in the 2010–11 season and they successfully defended their title by winning the championship in the last round of the competition.

The Speedway of Nations is a motorcycle speedway event for national teams, held each year in a different country. The first edition of the competition in the current format took place in 2018. It was the first time an official FIM international pairs competition was staged since the World Pairs Championship ceased in 1993. Australia are the current champions after winning in 2022. The Speedway of Nations was not held in 2023 due to the return of the Speedway World Cup, but will return to the speedway calendar in 2024 and 2025.
