The South Central Railway is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways. The jurisdiction of the zone is spread over the states of Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. The Hyderabad Multi-Modal Transport System, commonly abbreviated as MMTS, is a suburban rail system in Hyderabad, India. A joint venture of the Government of Telangana and the South Central Railway, it is operated by the latter. The 90-kilometre (56 mi) system caters to the city of Hyderabad and the neighbouring suburban areas connecting Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Falaknuma, Lingampally, Medchal and Umdanagar with a total of 133 MMTS services. Currently 86 MMTS services are being operated due to the effect of COVID-19.

It is a major railway station serving the town of Tirur in Malappuram district of Kerala. It lies in the Shoranur–Mangalore section of the Southern Railway zone. The station has three platforms and four tracks. Though no trains originate from this station, trains halting at the station connect the town to prominent cities in India such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kollam, Thrissur, Kannur, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Pondicherry, New Delhi, Mangalore, Chandigarh, Pune, Jaipur, Jammu Tawi, Okha, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and so on. This is an "A" class railway station which earns more than 30 crore per annum. It has now been upgraded to a Model Railway Station (Adarsh). The first railway line in Kerala was commissioned on 12 March 1861 from Beypore to Tirur. The proposed high-speed rail has a stop in Tirur. The new rear entrance and parking area are being set up on the eastern side of the station, opening to Tirur Market.

It is an important railway station between Irinjalakuda railway station and Divine Nagar railway station in the busy Shoranur–Cochin Harbour section in Thrissur district. Chalakudi railway station is operated by the Chennai-headquartered Southern Railways of the Indian Railways. It is an 'A' class station under Trivandrum division, and the second-largest station in Thrissur district after Thrissur railway station. It is also the first station declared as Adarsh station in Thrissur district. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport which is 19 kilometers away from here.

ECIL X Roads or ECIL Cross Roads is a major commercial center in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is an important intersection located between some of the densest residential areas in Secunderabad, including Kushaiguda and Moula Ali. The suburb is named after ECIL Factory located nearby on the road to Cherlapally. A TSRTC Bus Terminal is located beside the crossroads. The roads intersecting here are the Trimulgherry-ECIL road and the Tarnaka-Kushaiguda road that starts at Tarnaka Crossroads on the Inner Ring Road. Radhika Crossroads is another major intersection located just a kilometre away on the Trimulgherry-ECIL road and Moula Ali-Dammaiguda road.
