The Sisters of Mercy is a religious institute for women in the Roman Catholic Church. It was founded in 1831 in Dublin, Ireland, by Catherine McAuley. As of 2019, the institute has about 6200 sisters worldwide, organized into a number of independent congregations. They also started many education and health care facilities around the world.

Rice Memorial High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary and college preparatory school in South Burlington, Vermont. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington. The student body is mostly drawn from Northern and Central Vermont but includes other students including international students. The school and buildings were named for Bishop Joseph Rice who had established Cathedral High School in 1917.
The Academy of Saint Joseph, in Brentwood, New York, was a Catholic college-preparatory school for Kindergarten to Grade 12, single-sex for girls grades 9 - 12. The academy was founded in 1856, by the Sisters of Saint Joseph named after Saint Joseph. At the request of the Bishop of Brooklyn, Mother Austin Kean came from Philadelphia to Brooklyn to found what is now the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, New York. She was accompanied by Sister Baptista Hanson and Sister Theodosia Hegeman from Buffalo. It closed in 2009, after a 153-year history of educating the youth of Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ) are a Roman Catholic congregation of women religious which traces its origins to a group founded in Le Puy-en-Velay, France, around 1650 by Jean Pierre Medaille, S.J. The design of the congregation was based on the spirituality of the Society of Jesus. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet became a separate congregation of pontifical right on May 16, 1877.
St. Peter's Church and Mount St. Joseph Convent Complex is a Roman Catholic religious and educational complex on Convent and Meadow Streets in Rutland, Vermont. The complex includes a church, rectory, two schools, a convent, and an elderly housing building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The church is an architecturally significant work of architect Patrick C. Keely.
Fontbonne Academy is a private Roman Catholic college preparatory high school for girls, located in Milton, Massachusetts, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. It was started in 1954 by the Sisters of St. Joseph. The school was fully accredited in 1959 by the New England Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. Accreditation has been consistently renewed for ten-year periods. In January 2019, Fontbonne Academy changed its name to Fontbonne Early College of Boston.

Saint Peter-Marian Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School, was a private, coeducational Catholic junior high and senior high school in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. The school was more commonly referred to as St. Peter-Marian, or informally as SPM or St. Peter's. It was one of four high schools operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester and was accredited by The New England Association of Schools & Colleges in 1969. After the 2019-2020 school year, SPM closed and merged with Holy Name. The school that they created is called Saint Paul’s, it is on the Holy Name campus.
Catherine McAuley High School was an all-girls' college preparatory school in Portland, Maine. Run by the Sisters of Mercy, it was located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland. The school was established in 1969 and was named for the Sisters' founder, Catherine McAuley. Catherine McAuley High School was the successor school of two other all-women's Mercy schools, Saint Joseph's Academy (1881–1969) and Cathedral High School (1909–1969). In July 2016, the school building was transferred to The Maine Girls' Academy. In July 2018, The Maine Girls' Academy announced that it would not reopen for the following school year.
Saint Joseph Preparatory High School, formerly the Mount Saint Joseph Academy, was a Catholic college-preparatory high school founded in 2012 in Brighton, Boston, Massachusetts. Its opening followed the 2012 closings of Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Trinity Catholic High School. The school occupied Mount Saint Joseph Academy's former campus, and both institutions were named in honor of Saint Joseph.
Trinity Catholic Academy is a private Roman Catholic school located on the grounds of St. Mary's Church in Southbridge, Massachusetts. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester.The school has an approximate enrollment of 250 students and classes range from Pre-K to the 8th grade. The student body is predominantly Catholic, but the Academy does accept students of all faiths.
Saint Joseph Central High School was a private, college preparatory, Roman Catholic high school in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Saint Joseph offered a co-educational intensive college preparatory curriculum to students in grades 9 through 12. SJCHS had a strong international student community with students from Korea, China, Austria, and Spain, but did not offer boarding facilities. International students live with local host families. Former principal Francis X. Foley announced his resignation in June 2013, and has been replaced with Dr. Amy Gelinas. The School closed in June 2017.
