Big Flame were a post-punk/indie rock three piece band, based in Manchester, England, and active from 1983 to 1986. The members were Alan Brown, Greg Keeffe (guitar) and Dil Green (drums). After a debut EP ("Sink") on their own Laughing Gun label, they joined the Ron Johnson roster for a series of mid-1980s singles as well as an appearance on the NME's C86 compilation.

My Brother the Cow is the fourth studio album by American rock band Mudhoney. It was released on Reprise Records on March 28, 1995. My Brother the Cow includes numerous direct references to bands that influenced Mudhoney's sound. The song "F.D.K. ", for example, is a reference to the Bad Brains song "F.V.K. ". "Orange Ball-Peen Hammer" alludes to the song "Orange Claw Hammer" by Captain Beefheart, as well as containing lyrics borrowed from Led Zeppelin. "1995" is homage to the song "1969" by the Stooges, and also includes musical references to "L.A. Blues", another Stooges song.

After the death of the Fall's vocalist and band-leader Mark E. Smith, the trio recruited vocalist and guitarist Sam Curran to form Imperial Wax. The band describe themselves as, "noise rock & garage brawlers unafraid of a psych workout or a rockabilly dust-up."
