Roadburn Festival is an international music festival held in Tilburg, Netherlands every April since 1999. It was set up as a spin-off from the Roadburn music blog founded by Jurgen van den Brand and Walter Hoeijmakers. Originally focused on stoner rock, Roadburn grew into a major event spanning the entire spectrum of heavy rock and experimental music. The key staff involved with running the festival are Frens Frijns (managing director), Walter Hoeijmakers (promoter, artistic director) and Becky Laverty (press, communication, side programme). [1]

2020 edition

The 2020 edition of Roadburn was set to take place on Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19, 2020, but due to the coronavirus outbreak [2] it has been cancelled with much of the program being postponed until 2021. [3]

This edition's guest curators are Emma Ruth Rundle and James Kent, also known as Perturbator.

2010 edition

The event took place in Tilburg, at 013 and, for the first time, at the Midi Theatre.

It was sold-out in 30 minutes.

This edition suffered from the air travel disruption on Northern Europe due to the ash cloud from Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Several bands had to cancel, some others played twice to step in.

Soilent Green cancelled their appearance at Afterburner.

Due to the closure of the North European airspace, Outlaw Order, Sourvein, Dixie Witch and House of Broken Promises also cancelled.

Streetcleaner: Live at Roadburn 2011 is the first live album from English industrial metal band Godflesh. The release was recorded on 14 April 2011 at the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands. Apart from being the group's debut live album, it was also the first time they played Streetcleaner in its entirety.

Fluff Fest

Fluff Fest is an independent hardcore punk festival held each July at the Czech town of Rokycany, near Plzeň. A significant event for the DIY music scene of the Czech Republic and the punk subculture of Europe, it is associated with movements such as veganism, anarchism, feminism, anti-fascism, and straight edge. It was released on August 11, 2017, as a limited cassette by the label Sentient Ruin Laboratories and as a digital download by Hell's own label, LowerYourHead. Hell received critical acclaim from the few publications that covered it. On April 22, 2018, Hell performed Hell in its entirety at Roadburn Festival.
