"Murderer's Muse" is the third track in GWAR's 2006 album Beyond Hell, following directly after War Is All We Know and featuring a similar musical style, with the main difference being that Oderus' vocals are more reminiscent of his style during the This Toilet Earth era and the use of samples from 1964 movie Evil Brain from Outer Space.

Beyond Hell 2006 studio album by Gwar

Beyond Hell is the tenth studio album by Gwar. Released on August 29, 2006, the album was originally announced through the band's official website on February 23, 2006. Unlike the band's output since 2001, it is a concept album and a rock opera, centering on Gwar's journey to Hell as they escape from the attacking armies of humanity.

"War Is All We Know" is the second track in GWAR's 2006 album Beyond Hell and can be considered the first actual song in the album as the previous track was merely an introduction designed to build up tension for this track. This track puts emphasis on the thrash metal style GWAR had been developing for about 5 years previous to Beyond Hell and features fast-paced riffing by Balsac the Jaws of Death and Flattus Maximus as well as barked vocals by Oderus Urungus. The song, however, breaks in the middle into a slow, heavily distorted, dissonant interlude in which the drums by Jizmak Da Gusha become most notable. The song then speeds up again and returns to a similar riff as the one present at the start of the song before ending and leading into the following track.

This Toilet Earth 1994 studio album by Gwar

This Toilet Earth is the fourth album released by heavy metal band Gwar. Released in 1994, this album was to be one of their oddest and most bittersweet albums. It was the first Gwar album to be censored, due to their gain in popularity as a result of MTV exposure. The music and artwork is almost cartoonish when compared to the previous albums, and the instrumentation had expanded to include horns that reinforce the goofiness. An instrumental version of the song "Jack the World" was also featured in the Beavis and Butt-Head video game for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Relevance to Beyond Hell's plot

Following after GWAR's retreat from battle in War Is All We Know, Murderer's Muse details this escape as GWAR hide in the tunnels beneath their fortress, eventually coming across Jitler, a being created due to Adolf Hitler's crimes being so vast he had to merge with Jesus Christ as the song details "right at the ass".

Adolf Hitler Leader of Germany from 1934 to 1945

Adolf Hitler was a German politician and leader of the Nazi Party. He rose to power as Chancellor of Germany in 1933, and as Führer in 1934. During his dictatorship from 1933 to 1945, he initiated World War II in Europe by invading Poland on 1 September 1939. He was closely involved in military operations throughout the war and was central to the perpetration of the Holocaust. Hitler's actions and ideology are almost universally regarded as evil. According to historian Ian Kershaw, "never in history has such ruination—physical and moral—been associated with the name of one man."
