Music in the Hills is an annual Music festival in India organised at various exotic locations. Established in 2007, Music in the Hills tries to bring together good music, good listeners and great locations. Completely informal the festival is wholly sponsored and supported by people who come and attend the event without any sponsorship from Corporates. It is India's biggest independent music festival.

The musicians are a mix of big stars to talented youngsters. Some of the artists who have performed include the Warsi Brothers of the Rampur Gharana, Raghu Dixit Project, Parikrama, and Soulmate, among others. The music is a mix of various genres like Qawwali, Classic rock, Blues, Indian Folk, Fusion and Pop.
The event is a non-publicised event and mostly attended by hardcore music lovers from around the country and overseas. Insignificantly smaller in scale than the big music festivals in the west, Music in the Hills focuses more on the interaction between the artists and the audience. The musicians stay with the audience[ clarification needed ] and there is a huge interaction with the audience before and after the gig.
Organised mostly at locales around the Hills of Northern India, it was moved to the sand dunes of Rajasthan for the experience of musicians performing on a backdrop of an Old Rajasthani fort and the vast expanse of dunes. The location is Khimsar Fort and Dunes near Jodhpur.
The artists billed as performing at this event were Mohit Chauhan, Parikrama, Advaita, Jasleen Royal and Bobby Cash.[ citation needed ]
Music in the Hills held its 8th edition to the Hills of Himachal, at Koti, near Shimla, featuring a line up that included, Soulmate, Bobby Cash, Valentine Shipley, Mob Marley, Hari & Sukhmani and Harpreet.
The 9th edition of Music in the Hills took place in Mandawa, Rajasthan, with Happily Unmarried, the kitschy merchandise company, successfully organizing it for the 9th time [1] consecutively. The winter night in Rajasthan was well attended,[ citation needed ] and bands from around the country[ who? ] performed.

Dhosi Hill is an important Vedic period site, an extinct volcano, standing alone at the north-west end of the Aravalli mountain range. Its height varies from about 345 to 470 meters from the surrounding lands and 740 meters from the sea level. Soulmate is a blues rock band from Shillong, Meghalaya, India. The band is primarily made up of Rudy Wallang (guitar/vocals/songwriter) and Tipriti TIPS Kharbangar (vocals/guitar), although they frequently team up with session musicians when on tour. Tipriti is considered one of the finest female singers to have emerged from North East India and Wallang is considered one of the most respected blues guitarists of India.

Mame Khan is an Indian playback and folk singer from Rajasthan, India. He has been playback singer for numerous Hindi films such as Luck By Chance (2009), I Am (2010), No One Killed Jessica (2011), Mirzya (2016) and Sonchiriya (2019). Khan was featured on Coke Studio @ MTV along with Amit Trivedi, the duo performed the track Chaudhary. He received the Best Folk Single Award at Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GiMA) 2016. Mame Khan was first ever Folk artist to walk the Red Carpet at The Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and to perform at the Indian pavilion at Cannes. Mame Khan's most recent folk, Sufi, fusion album named "Desert Rose" was released on 13 October 2022.
Annadale, also spelled as Annandale is a locality of Shimla city, in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a flat valley bottom which includes the helipad as well as a golf course in the city. Annadale has also an army cantonment with an Army Heritage Museum. Due to its lush green environment, historical importance and first seen place by every VVIP visit, it is also known as the "Heart of Shimla".
