The film was a remake of director Nazir Ajmeri's Paigham (1964). Aaj Aur Kal was a diamond jubilee hit at the box office and won 8 Nigar Awards for different categories, including the "best film" of the year.

Aap Ki Khatir is a 1980 Pakistani film it was written by Haroon Pasha and directed by Zeenat it was produced by Javed Iqbal and Pervaiz Iqbal. It stars Rani Begum, Shahid, Rahat Kazmi and Bindiya in leading roles.
