My Tiger My Timing was a five-piece new wave pop band from New Cross in south-east London formed in 2008. Their music was described by NME.com as "tribal electro like a south London Gang Gang Dance" [1] and by Clash as "alternative pop with a dark heart that's bursting with desire". [2] The band are on indefinite hiatus as of 2014.

The band take their name from the title of a song by New York experimental musician Arthur Russell.

Career

Their debut single "This Is Not The Fire" was produced by Andy Spence of the British New Rave band New Young Pony Club and self-released in April 2009. Their second single, "I Am The Sound", was also produced by Andy Spence and released as part of I Am The Sound EP through London's Pure Groove label.

The band's music has also featured on Kitsuné Maison Compilation 8, on Modular's Leave Them All Behind III, on the Pure Groove 3 sampler and French label Sisterphunk's Sisters EP. They contributed a cover of an Arthur Russell song, "Arm Around You" to A Tribute to Arthur Russell, a compilation released on the Electric Minds label.

In November 2010, the band were chosen as winners of the Beck's European Newcomer award.

In April 2011, the band made the finals of Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition and opened the John Peel Stage at the festival that year.

In August 2011 the band released their third single, Endless Summer through their own Snakes & Ladders label. The single was playlisted by BBC 6 Music and XFM and was described by Drowned in Sound as "shimmery post-punk...in which all the guitar lines dangle like silver filigree chains". [3]

In November 2011 Snakes & Ladders released a fourth single, Written in Red, followed by a free Christmas download, See You on New Year's Day. They released 5th single "The Gold Rush" Snakes & Ladders on 25 June 2012 just ahead of the release of their debut album 'Celeste' on 2 July 2012 through their own Snakes & Ladders label.

The third single released from 'Celeste' – "Let Me Go" Snakes & Ladders was released on 5 November 2012.

Radio

The band's their third single Endless Summer was playlisted on BBC 6 Music from June to August 2011, and on XFM's Evening Playlist in July 2011. In April 2009, the band were broadcast as part of XFM's Xposure Live sessions with John Kennedy. In May 2010, the band played the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend event in Bangor, North Wales.

The Dykeenies Scottish indie rock band

The Dykeenies are a Scottish indie rock band from Cumbernauld, formed in 2005. The group consists of brothers Brian Henderson and Andrew Henderson, along with Steven Ramsay and John Kerr. Since their formation, they have released one studio album, Nothing Means Everything, accompanied by three singles. After a worldwide tour, the band began work on their second album, which was released in October 2011. They broke up in January 2012, before re-forming for two performances in 2017. The Dykeenies released their EP 'I Wanted To Show Her All The Beautiful Things in the World' on 11 May 2018. The title of the 2018 EP was taken from Bret Ellis-Easton's 'American Psycho'.

Pin Me Down were a pop/electronica/rock side project of guitarist Russell Lissack, of the British band Bloc Party, and guitarist/singer Milena Mepris. The band was managed by Robt Ptak, who had previously worked with Mepris in Ptak's project Artificial Joy. The band made their live debut as a 5–6 piece in May 2008 in London, supporting Yeasayer.

The Cab American rock band

The Cab is an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Their debut album, Whisper War, was released on April 29, 2008. They have been called "The Band You Need to Know 2008" by Alternative Press magazine. They were also featured in the '100 Bands You Need to Know in 2010' by the magazine and were one of the three bands featured on the cover page, along with Never Shout Never and Hey Monday. Their second album Symphony Soldier was released on August 23, 2011, with its first single "Bad" released to iTunes July 11, 2011, and announced by the band on July 18. The Cab funded the entire album by themselves and left their Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance label, self-releasing Symphony Soldier. AbsolutePunk gave an extremely positive review with a rating of 95%, calling the album a "masterpiece". The pre-orders in the band's webstore featured eleven packages, ranging from $10 to $9,999. Symphony Soldier is digitally available on iTunes, and only available as physical CDs from the band's webstore. The band's latest work, an EP titled Lock Me Up, was released on April 29, 2014. They have not released any new material since 2014, leaving the future of the band uncertain.

"In for the Kill" is a song by English synth-pop duo La Roux from their eponymous debut studio album (2009). The song was released as the album's second single on 15 March 2009. It became the duo's breakthrough single, peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart. Dubstep producers Skream and Skrillex both made remixes of the track. In 2011, "In for the Kill" was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.

Is Tropical British band

Is Tropical are a band from London, England, with members as of 2014 including Simon Milner, Gary Barber, Dominic Apa, and Kirstie Fleck.
