He received a Kennedy Center Honor in 2009, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2010, the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2013, a British Film Institute Fellowship in 2015, a National Medal of Arts in 2016, a BAFTA Fellowship in 2017, and the Honorary Academy Award in 2024.

It can be seen when the direction of movement is reversed and the slack or lost motion is taken up before the reversal of motion is complete. It can be heard from the railway couplings when a train reverses direction. The Inevitable Backlash's lineup has changed frequently, with only singer John Renton, a former member of Abby's Gone remaining from the original incarnation. Past and current members have included Jason Mackenroth on drums, Matt E. Grossman on drums/percussion. Chris Stein, currently a member of Saccharine Trust on bass, Laena Myers Lonita of Residual Echoes and Starlight Desperation on bass.

Joseph Brooks, born Joseph Kaplan, was an American composer, director, producer, and screenwriter. In his later years he became the subject of an investigation after being accused of a series of casting-couch rapes. He was indicted in 2009, but killed himself on May 22, 2011, before his trial.
The 2004 Backlash was the sixth Backlash professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It was held exclusively for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw brand division. The event took place on April 18, 2004, at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, thus being the only Backlash event held outside the United States until the 2023 event. The concept of the pay-per-view was based around the backlash from WrestleMania XX.

It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brand divisions. The event took place on April 26, 2009, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. It was the final Backlash held until 2016, as in 2010, Backlash was replaced by Extreme Rules. The concept of the pay-per-view was based around the backlash from WrestleMania 25—despite the event's revival in 2016, the 2009 event would be the final Backlash to carry the post-WrestleMania theme until the 2021 event.
