Myka Relocate are an American metalcore band formed in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2007, later based in Houston, Texas. The band has released three studio albums, Self Portrait as a Frozen Father, Lies to Light the Way and The Young Souls in addition to taking part in four annual South by So What?! music festivals between 2012 and 2015[3][4][5] as well as the 2016 SO WHAT! Music Festival.[6] The band is credited with being able to successfully combine electronic elements, guttural screaming and pop vocals.[1]

In 2007, Austin Doré, Sam Albarado and Garrett Hawkins [7] started Myka Relocate[1] in Lafayette, Louisiana. Shortly after, the band enlisted Tori Guidry at lead guitar.[failed verification] In the early stages, the band had multiple short term bass players (Trevor Granger, Jack Taylor), before longtime bassist, Luke Burleigh, joined the band in 2008.[failed verification] The band self-released an album in the summer of 2008 called Self Portrait as a Frozen Father.[8]
At this time the band's genre was post-hardcore.[citation needed] Shortly after the release of Self Portrait, Tori Guidry left the band.[failed verification] The band operated as a four piece consisting of Hawkins (vocals), Doré (guitars), Burleigh (bass), and Albarado (drums) for the next eighteen months after Guidry's departure.[failed verification] On June 26, 2009[9] the band self-released an EP called ...and of Monsters.[10]
In late 2009 vocalist Garrett Hawkins posted a bulletin on MySpace announcing his departure from the band.[citation needed]
The band announced new vocalist Scott Badon[failed verification] and rhythm guitarist Josh Peltier[7] and released one song titled "Take it Easy Mountain Face" to their MySpace page in 2010,[11] but shortly after the band was without a vocalist again.
After finding a loyal following in Lafayette, the band changed their base of operations to Houston, Texas (to draw a larger following) in 2010, adding vocalists John Ritter and Michael Swank[1] and adopted a metalcore sound.[1][failed verification]
The band was named after a phrase used in video game Call of Duty, in which a voice shouts "Sniper, Relocate". The band decided to change the pronunciation of the first word to "/ˈmaɪkə/", but decided to spell the word as "Myka".[12][13]
In early 2013,[14] Albarado and the group parted ways, with Aaron Robertson taking over on percussion.[1] In July of that year,[14] the band signed with Artery Recordings, a label distributed by Razor & Tie. The ensemble then worked with producer Cameron Mizell[1] at Chango Studios[14] to record their debut studio album.[1] In mid-September, the band announced the title of their album as Lies to Light the Way while publishing "Doublespeak", the first single from the album.[15] Preceded five days earlier by a full album stream,[16] the work was released on October 29, 2013,[17] reaching No.22 on Top Heatseekers.[18]
To start off 2014, the band released their first music video entitled "Something to Dream About".[19] In early 2015, the group published an acoustic version of the tune to accompany their music video.[20]
On September 24, 2015, the band announced that their second album The Young Souls would be published in late October. That same day, the group released "New Again", the first single from the record.[21] Throughout the month of October, the ensemble released three consecutive singles from the album. "Cold Hearts", the second single from the album, was released on October 8[22] with "Bring You Home" being published one week later[23] and "Damage" presented the week following.[24] On the Facebook page for the ensemble, the band announced a music video for "Nerve", released on February 24, 2016.[25]
In late June and early July 2016, the ensemble performed throughout the United States on The Young Souls Tour, the first national headline circuit for the group. Light Up The Sky and Out Came The Wolves joined as supporting acts.[32][33]
In late July 2016, the band indicated through their Facebook page that they plan to write new music soon.[34]
On October 30, 2020 vocalist Michael Swank held an Instagram live in which he announced the status of the band to be broken up.[2][bettersourceneeded]
In 2021, Swank joined American rock band Foxera.[36]
On August 5, 2024, the band announced they'll be reuniting for two special shows at Whiskey Go Go in Los Angeles, California on January 12, 2025 and January 13, 2025 where they'll be performing their albums "Lies To Light The Way" and "The Young Souls" in full on each date respectively.[37]

Dance Gavin Dance is an American post-hardcore band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. It consists of unclean vocalist Jon Mess, lead guitarist Will Swan, clean vocalist and rhythm guitarist Andrew Wells, and drummer Matthew Mingus. The band formerly included lead vocalists Jonny Craig, Kurt Travis, and Tilian Pearson, and the lineup has changed numerous times since their inception. Swan and Mingus are the only band members who have appeared on every studio album.
William Beckett is an American musician who is the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the Chicago-based rock band The Academy Is..., who signed to Atlantic Records/Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance Records. While still in high school in 2003, Beckett and guitarist Mike Carden came together from rival bands in Chicago to form The Academy Is... In addition to founding the band, Beckett and Carden are credited as the primary songwriters. A third core member of the band was Adam T. Siska, Beckett's classmate and friend from Barrington High School.

Eyes Set to Kill is an American post-hardcore and metalcore band from Tempe, Arizona. The Rodriguez sisters, lead guitarist Alexia and bassist Anissa, along with vocalist Lindsey Vogt started the band in 2003. After Lindsey's departure, Alexia assumed her position as lead vocalist as well as guitarist. Anissa left in late 2016 but returned to the band in 2023.

Of Mice & Men is an American rock band formed in Costa Mesa, California, in 2009. The band's line-up currently consists of drummer Valentino Arteaga, guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby, and bassist and lead vocalist Aaron Pauley. The group was founded by former lead vocalist Austin Carlile and former bassist Jaxin Hall in mid-2009 after Carlile's departure from Attack Attack!. Carlile departed from the band in December 2016 citing that a long-term health condition prompted his exit. The White Noise was an American punk rock band from Dallas, Texas, later based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2010 under the name Set the Sun by guitarist and vocalist David Southern and drummer Alex Summers, the band released two EPs and a series of singles while still based in Dallas. By 2013, Southern was left the sole founding member and recruited vocalist Shawn Walker and guitarist Josh "KJ" Strock. This lineup would relocate to Los Angeles and change their name to the White Noise. In total, the band released three EPs, in addition to one studio album, 2017's AM/PM.

The band consisted of bassist Colin Vieira, guitarists Weston Richmond and Juan Felipe Sanchez, drummer Zachary Baker, and lead vocalist Jonny Craig. The band released their third studio album Beautiful Death on February 16, 2018.
