The Mykolaiv Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine , commonly referred to as the Mykolaiv CPU obkom, was the position of highest authority in the Mykolaiv Oblast, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union. The position was created on September 22, 1937, and abolished in August 1991. The First Secretary was a de facto appointed position usually by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine or the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Pavlovych Liashko was a Soviet Ukrainian politician. He was the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR for more than 15 years, making him the longest-serving person in that capacity. He also served in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1961 to 1989. In 1985 Liashko received the honorary award, the Hero of Socialist Labour.

A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1957, he served as First Secretary of the Mykolaiv Oblast Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine from 1980 to 1990. He was part Communist Party of the Soviet Union Central Auditing Commission since 1981.
