N.Technology is an Italian motor racing team, founded by Mauro Sipsz and Monica Bregoli.

Team history

N.Technology (originally named Nordauto Squadra Corse or Team Nordauto) were set up to manage the worldwide sporting activities of the Fiat Group. In 1994 the name was changed to Nordauto Engineering and in 2001 to N.Technology.

Touring cars

This included designing, building and running the Alfa Romeo 156 for use in touring cars. N.Technology won seven European and five Italian Championships with Alfa Romeo, winning three consecutive European Touring Car Championship drivers' titles, with Fabrizio Giovanardi in 2001 and 2002 and with Gabriele Tarquini in 2003. The team continued to run in the World Touring Car Championship, with Fabrizio Giovanardi finishing third in 2005. In 2006 they went it alone without support from Alfa Romeo, running Augusto Farfus to third in the standings. James Thompson also finished third for the team in 2007. The team ran a Honda Accord Euro R for Thompson in 2008, but with less success. [1]

Rallying

N.Technology ran Fiat's entry in the inaugural season of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, with driver Giandomenico Basso winning the championship with a Fiat Punto Abarth S2000 in 2006. [1]

Formula Master

N.Technology created the International Formula Master series, which began in 2007. [1]

Superstars

In 2010, N. Technology built and ran a Porsche Panamera for touring car specialist, Fabrizio Giovanardi.

Formula One application

In 2009, N.Technology's parent company, MSC Organization Ltd, submitted an application under the N.Technology banner to join the 2010 Formula One World Championship. The team stated that it had deals in place with potential partners should its application be successful.

The list of entrants for the 2010 Formula One World Championship season did not include N.Technology when it was posted on 12 June. [2] On 19 June it was revealed that N.Technology had withdrawn its application to enter F1 because it did not want to be involved without major manufacturers, following FOTA's proposals to form a breakaway series. José María "Pechito" López is an Argentine race car driver who is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Akkodis ASP. He raced in the 2006 GP2 Series for the Super Nova team, and previously for the DAMS team, and the CMS team in Formula 3000. He was also at Renault F1 as a test driver. He was supposed to make his Formula One debut in 2010 for US F1 Team but the team shut down before contesting a single race. On 16 December 2013 he joined the Citroën Total WTCC team for the 2014 World Touring Car Championship season. He won 10 races that year and clinched his first World Touring Car Championship. In 2015 he repeated the feat, again winning 10 races and the championship. In 2016, he again retained the title with eight wins.

The European Touring Car Championship was an international touring car racing series organised by the FIA. It had two incarnations, the first one between 1963 and 1988, and the second between 2000 and 2004. In 2005 it was superseded by the World Touring Car Championship, and replaced by the European Touring Car Cup between 2005 and 2017 when became also defunct.

The 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 49th British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. As in 2005, there were ten racing weekends at nine different circuits; each round comprising three races, making a thirty round competition in total.

The 2007 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 50th British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. It was won by Fabrizio Giovanardi with 10 race wins and 17 podiums. Going into the final race, Fabrizio Giovanardi was one point behind Jason Plato but a second place for Giovanardi and a fourth place for Plato resulted in Giovanardi taking the championship by 3 points. The Teams' championship was won by SEAT Sport UK, the Manufacturers' championship was won by Vauxhall, the Independents' Trophy was won by Colin Turkington and the Independent Teams' championship was won by Team RAC.

The Italian Superturismo Championship is Italy's national motorsport series for touring cars. It was established in 1987 and its drivers' title has been held by such notable drivers as Le Mans winners Emanuele Pirro and Rinaldo Capello, and two-time Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi.

The 2006 World Touring Car Championship season was the third season of FIA World Touring Car Championship motor racing. It featured a ten event, twenty race series which commenced on 2 April 2006 and ended on 19 November. The series was open to Super 2000, Diesel 2000 and Super Production Cars, with two titles awarded, the FIA World Touring Car Champion for Drivers and the FIA World Touring Car Champion for Manufacturers. Andy Priaulx won the Drivers title and BMW won the Manufacturers award.

The 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 52nd British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. It began at Brands Hatch on the Indy layout on 5 April and finished after 30 races over 10 events on the Grand Prix layout at Brands Hatch on 4 October. Colin Turkington won the championship for the first time, ahead of Jason Plato and Fabrizio Giovanardi.

The 2000 European Super Touring Cup was the 27th season of European touring car racing and the first since 1988. The championship started at Mugello on 2 April and ended after ten events at Cerklje ob Krki on 8 October.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2005 FIA WTCC Race of Mexico</span>

The 2005 FIA WTCC Race Of Mexico was the fifth round of the 2005 World Touring Car Championship season. It was held at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed. Fabrizio Giovanardi won the first race from pole position for Alfa Romeo, and Peter Terting took his first and only WTCC win in the second race, which also turned out to be SEAT's second win.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">JAS Motorsport</span> Italian motor racing team

JAS Motorsport is an Italian motor racing team and an engineering and manufacturing company. It was founded in 1995 by Paolo Jasson, Maurizio Ambrogetti and Giorgio Schon. The company initially competed with Alfa Romeo in 1996 and 1997. Since 1998, they have been an official partner of Honda, and have developed, built and raced cars in various different disciplines for the Japanese manufacturer, as well as provided customer racing services.

The 1998 Italian Superturismo Championship was the twelfth edition of the Italian Superturismo Championship. The season began in Binetto on 17 May and finished in Vallelunga on 4 October, after ten rounds.

The 1999 Italian Superturismo Championship season was the thirteenth and last edition of the Italian Superturismo Championship. The season began in Misano on 17 April and finished in Vallelunga on 10 October, after ten rounds.

The 2018 FIA World Touring Car Cup was the inaugural season of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). It took over from the World Touring Car Championship and adopted the TCR technical regulations. It was also the 14th overall season of the series that dates from the 2005 World Touring Car Championship. The change of name and new rules follow the declining interest in the TC1 regulations used by the World Touring Car Championship between 2014 and 2017 and the growing interest among manufacturers in the TCR touring car category.
