Giandomenico Basso (born 15 September 1973, in Montebelluna) is an Italian rally driver.
After competing in karting from 1981, Basso has been rallying since 1994. [1] Basso has driven Fiats throughout his rallying career. He made his World Rally Championship debut on Rallye Sanremo in 1998, in a Fiat Seicento. [2] In 2001 and 2002, he competed on WRC rounds in the Junior World Rally Championship in a Fiat Punto S1600, finishing fifth in 2001 and fourth in 2002. [2] In 2006, Basso won the inaugural Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the European Rally Championship in a Fiat Grande Punto S2000 for Abarth. [1] In 2007, he won the Italian Rally Championship. [1] In 2009, he won again the European Rally Championship, driving an Abarth Grande Punto S2000.
Basso used to be co-driven by Flavio Guglielmini, who died in a crash on the European Championship round Rally Bulgaria in July 2009 as co-driver to Swiss driver Brian Lavio. Basso has also been co-driven by Luigi Pirollo and currently by Mitia Dotta.

Abarth & C. S.p.A. is an Italian racing- and road-car maker and performance division founded by Italo-Austrian Carlo Abarth in 1949. Abarth & C. S.p.A. is owned by Stellantis through its Italian subsidiary. Its logo is a shield with a stylized scorpion on a yellow and red background.
The Fiat Punto is a supermini car (B-segment) produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat from 1993 to 2018, spanning over three generations. The 2009 Neste Oil Rally Finland was the 59th running of the Rally Finland and the ninth round of the 2009 World Rally Championship season. The rally consisted of 23 special stages and was won by Ford's Mikko Hirvonen. This marked his third victory in a row and his first in his home event. Last year's winner Sébastien Loeb of Citroën finished second and took his first podium since the Rally Argentina back in April. Jari-Matti Latvala beat Dani Sordo to the final podium spot.

The FIA WRC2 is a support championship of the World Rally Championship (WRC). The calendar consists of the same rallies and stages as the parent series and crews usually compete immediately after Rally1 class crews. The 2006 International Rally Challenge was the inaugural season of the rallying series, which was renamed to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge for 2007 onwards. The season consisted of four rounds and began on May 26, with the Zulu Rally South Africa. The season ended on September 16 with the Rally Sanremo. Giandomenico Basso won the title with Fiat Grande Punto Abarth S2000 ahead of Alister McRae and Paolo Andreucci.

The 2011 European Rally Championship season was the 59th season of the FIA European Rally Championship, the European continental championship series in rallying. The season consisted of eleven rallies, beginning with Rally 1000 Miglia on 14 April 2011 and concluding with the Rallye International du Valais on 29 October 2011. Only drivers registered for the European championship were allowed to score points at the events, and they had to compete in a minimum of 8 rallies to be classified in the final championship standings. 28 drivers were registered for the season, the majority (15) were from Italy, four were from Poland, three from Bulgaria, two each from Slovenia and France and one each from Czech Republic and Switzerland.
Albert Llovera Massana is a rally driver and former alpine skier from Andorra. He became the youngest athlete to compete in the Winter Olympics in 1984 at the age of 17. A serious accident in 1985 left him paralysed from the waist down. He has since taken up rallying, using cars with specially adapted hand controls. He is currently competing in the Super 2000 World Rally Championship.
