NLC Dolly Gunj Solar Power Plant is a photovoltaic power station owned and operated by NLC India Limited in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India.

History

In October 2017, NLC India issued the first tender for a solar plus battery storage project for Dolly Gunj along with Attam Pahad, which was later scrapped. Subsequently, in March 2018, they issued a revised tender for the project. The new tender involves the installation of 2×10 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV power projects with an 8 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) providing a half-hour backup at each location. [1] Initially, the combined project capacity was aimed for a 28 MWh and was awarded to Mahindra Susten before being canceled for undisclosed reasons. The new project was awarded to Larsen & Toubro which includes operation and maintenance (O&M) for 10 years following a one-year warranty period. [2]

According to GlobalData, the project, which was developed in a single phase, is currently active and was commissioned in June 2020. [3]

The tender closed on 4 June 2024.
