Solapur is a city located in the south-western region of the Indian state of Maharashtra, close to its border with Karnataka. Solapur is located on major highway, rail routes between Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad, with a branch line to the cities of Kalaburagi and Vijayapura in the neighbouring state of Karnataka. Marathwada is a proposed state and geographical region of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was formed during the Nizam's rule and was part of the then Hyderabad State. The region coincides with the Aurangabad division of Maharashtra. It borders the states of Karnataka and Telangana, and it lies to the west of the Vidarbha and east of Uttar Maharashtra regions of Maharashtra. The largest city of Marathwada is Aurangabad. He was bestowed with the Padma Shri award in 2013 for his contribution in cinema and arts.

De Dhakka is a 2008 Indian Marathi-language comedy-drama film directed by Atul Kale and Sudesh Manjrekar. Based on the American film Little Miss Sunshine (2006), the film's story revolves on a lower-class family. A sequel to the film, titled De Dhakka 2, digitally premiered on the streaming platform ZEE5 on 24 March 2023.

Goshta Choti Dongraevadhi is a Marathi film, released on 14 July 2009. The film, produced by Makarand Anaspure, Sayaji Shinde, and Suresh Suvarna, is directed by Nagesh Bhonsle. The film starring Makarand Anaspure, Sayaji Shinde, Nagesh Bhosale and Girija Oak tells the story of poor farmers and how they are being wronged by society and government. Nana Patekar lent his voice to narrate few lines at the end of this film. Nilu Phule made a special appearance and it was his last film as he died in July 2009.

The film is directorial debut of Om Raut and is produced by Neena Raut. The screenplay is written by Om Raut and Kaustubh Savarkar and the music is composed by duo Ajit-Sameer.
Dr. Prakash Baba Amte – The Real Hero is a Marathi film starring Nana Patekar, Sonali Kulkarni and Mohan Agashe in lead roles. It is a biopic on the lives of Dr Prakash Baba Amte, the son of the social worker Baba Amte, and his wife Mandakini Amte. Dr. Prakash Amte is a doctor and social worker who devotes his life to the development and uplifting of the tribal people in the forests of eastern Maharashtra state.
Dagadi Chawl is a 2015 Marathi language action drama thriller film directed by debutant Chandrakant Kanse. Presented by Manglmurti films and Produced by Sai Pooja Films & Entertainments. Daagdi Chaawl features an ensemble cast of Ankush Chaudhari, Makarand Deshpande and Pooja Sawant in lead roles. It is the third release for Ankush Chaudhari in 2015 after back to back blockbusters Classmates and Double Seat. Official teaser of the film was released with Tu Hi Re on 4 September 2015 and was published on YouTube on 5 September 2015 which met with very good response.

Based on a play by the same written by playwright Kusumagraj, the film depicts the tragic family life of a stage actor who has retired from acting but is unable to forget his fond memories of theatre and the stage.
The Vasantotsav is an annual Indian Classical music, semi classical, folk and light music festival held in Pune. The festival is organized by Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Pratisthan, Pune, in the memory of the late Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande by inviting respected artists to perform at this event. The Maratha Kranti Morcha, loosely translated as "Maratha revolutionary demonstration" in the Marathi language, is a series of silent and pragmatic protests organized by the Maratha community in various cities across India as well as overseas. Other groups, such as religious minorities including Muslims, have also supported the Morcha. The impetus for the rallies was the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Kopardi village, Maharashtra, on 13 July 2016. The protesters have demanded the death sentence for the rapists. Maratha caste dominate the power and cultural structure in Maharashtra owing to their numerical strength.
De Dhakka 2 is a 2022 Marathi-language comedy drama film directed by duo Mahesh Manjrekar, Sudesh Manjrekar and produced by Ameya Vinod Khopkar Entertainment in association with Skylink Entertainment. It is a sequel to the 2008 film De Dhakka, featuring Makarand Anaspure, Medha Manjrekar, Shivaji Satam, Saksham Kulkarni, Siddhartha Jadhav and Gauri Ingawale in lead while Pravin Tarde, Sanjay Khapre, Mahesh Manjrekar in supporting roles. The film was theatrically released on 5 August 2022 clash with Saleel Kulkarni's Ekda Kaay Zala.
