Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura is one of the prominent government official who holds different position during his government service holder. He was the Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board. [1] [2] He served as Secretary of Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs from 2011 to 2018.. [3] He served As an Ambassador at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Bangladesh) from 2010 to 2011. [4] Before that,he was holding the position of Additional Inspector General. [5] of Bangladesh Police which is the Second in Command on Bangladesh Police.
Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura was born at Rangamati Hill District and he completed his Primary and High School Education from Rangamati. After that he went to Dhaka College and participated in Bangladesh Liberation War. He completed undergraduate and graduate studies in English Language at the University of Dhaka. [6]
In 1982,Tripura Joined as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Bangladesh Police after completing Bangladesh Public Civil Service Exam. [7]
While serving as Bangladesh's first mission deputy contingent commander in the US-led "Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti" in the Western Hemisphere in 1994,he was awarded by the US Department of Defense's "Commanders Award for Public Service" [8] for outstanding performance. (UNMHA) and won the United Nations Medal.
During the Bangladesh Nationalist Party rule from 2001 to 2006,Tripura was denied promotion along with other religious minorities and people from Gopalganj District who were viewed as being loyal to the opposition Awami League. [9] He was the deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police in 2001. [9] He was posted in the Criminal Investigation Department in 2002 as special superintendent. [9] He was afterwards transferred to Khulna Range. [9] He was then posted at the Bangladesh Police Academy and Detective Training School. [9] He was sent to study at the National Defence College in 2005. [9] [7] In 2007,[ citation needed ] he was appointed Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police. [10]
Tripura,in his long career has held important positions of commanding,staff and instruction. He was twice elected President of the Bangladesh Police Service Association. He was the managing director of the Bangladesh Police Co-operative Society and Editor-in-Chief of the "Intelligence Department" from 2007 to 2010. [7] He was appointed in March 2007 as the National Project Director of the Police Reform Program and held the post until 6 October 2010,when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was appointed the acting Secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs on16 June 2011. [11] In 2012,he was made a full secretary of the government of Bangladesh. [12]
Tripura was elected Chairman of the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMDD),Board of Governors in 2016. [7] The International Center for Integrated Mountain Development,an intergovernmental regional organization,was established in 1983 with 8 (eight) regional members - Afghanistan,Pakistan,India,Nepal,Bhutan,China,Myanmar and Bangladesh.[ citation needed ]
Tripura was the Secretary [13] of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs from 16 June 2011 to February 28,2018. From December 2013 to February 2018,he was the Chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB). [14] He was reappointed Chairman of the Board in March 2018. [7]
The Chittagong Hill Tracts,often shortened to simply the Hill Tracts and abbreviated to CHT,are a group of districts within the Chittagong Division in southeastern Bangladesh,bordering India and Myanmar (Burma) in the east. Covering 13,295 square kilometres (5,133 sq mi),they formed a single district until 1984,when they were divided into three districts:Khagrachhari,Rangamati,and Bandarban.

The Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti is a left wing political party formed to represent the people and indigenous tribes of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh. Since its inception in 1972,the PCJSS has fought for autonomy and the recognition of the ethnic identity and rights of the indigenous tribes of the Hill Tracts. Its military arm,the Shanti Bahini was used to fight government forces and Bengali settlers in the Hill Tracts. A peace accord was signed in 1997 led to the disarmament of the Shanti Bahini and enabled the PCJSS to return to mainstream politics.
Rangamati Hill District is a district in south-eastern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chattogram Division,and the town of Rangamati serves as the headquarters of the district. By area,Rangamati is the largest district of the country.

Bandarban is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh,and a part of the Chittagong Division. The Tripuri are a Tibeto-Burman-speaking ethnic group of Bangladesh and Northeast Indian state of Tripura. They are the descendants of the inhabitants of the Twipra/Tripura Kingdom in North-East India and Bangladesh. The Tripuri people through the Manikya dynasty ruled the Kingdom of Tripura for over 600 years starting from 1400 A.D. until the kingdom joined the Indian Union on 15 October 1949. The Tipra Dynasty was established in 590 AD.
The Twipra Kingdom was one of the largest historical kingdoms of the Tripuri people in Northeast India.
Rangamati Government High School,also known as RGHS is a public government high school located in Rangamati Sadar,Rangamati. It is the first operating high school in Rangamati and Chittagong Hill Tracts. It was established in 1890 during the British Raj era.
The Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board is a government agency established in 1978 by the then-president of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman in response to the rise of the Shanti Bahini insurgency in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of eastern Bangladesh.
