Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura is a government official. He was the chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board. [1] [2] He served as secretary of Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs from 2011 to 2018. [3] He served as an ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2010 to 2011. [4] Before that,he held the position of additional inspector general of the Bangladesh Police, [5] which is the second in command within the organization.
Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura was born at Rangamati Hill District. and he completed his primary and high school education in Rangamati. After that,he went to Dhaka College and participated in the Bangladesh Liberation War. He completed undergraduate and graduate studies in English language at the University of Dhaka. [6]
In 1982,Tripura joined as assistant superintendent of police (ASP) of Bangladesh Police after completing the Bangladesh Public Civil Service Exam. [7]
While serving as Bangladesh's first mission deputy contingent commander in the US-led "Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti" in the Western Hemisphere in 1994,he was awarded by the US Department of Defense's "Commanders Award for Public Service" [8] for outstanding performance. (UNMHA) and won the United Nations Medal.
During the Bangladesh Nationalist Party rule from 2001 to 2006,Tripura was denied promotion along with other religious minorities and people from Gopalganj District who were viewed as being loyal to the opposition Awami League. [9] He was the deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police in 2001. [9] He was posted to the Criminal Investigation Department in 2002 as special superintendent. [9] He was afterwards transferred to Khulna Range. [9] He was then posted at the Bangladesh Police Academy and Detective Training School. [9] He was sent to study at the National Defence College in 2005. [9] [7] In 2007,[ citation needed ] he was appointed Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police. [10]
Tripura has held important positions of commanding,staff and instruction. He was twice elected president of the Bangladesh Police Service Association. He was the managing director of the Bangladesh Police Co-operative Society and editor-in-chief of the "Intelligence Department" from 2007 to 2010. [7] He was appointed in March 2007 as the national project director of the Police Reform Program and held the post until 6 October 2010,when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was appointed the acting secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs on 16 June 2011. [11] In 2012,he was made a full secretary of the government of Bangladesh. [12]
Tripura was elected chairman of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMDD) board of governors in 2016. [7] The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development,an intergovernmental regional organization,was established in 1983 with eight regional members - Afghanistan,Pakistan,India,Nepal,Bhutan,China,Myanmar and Bangladesh.[ citation needed ]
Tripura was the secretary [13] of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs from 16 June 2011 to 28 February 2018. From December 2013 to February 2018,he was the chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB). [14] He was reappointed chairman of the board in March 2018. [7]
The Chittagong Hill Tracts,often shortened to simply the Hill Tracts and abbreviated to CHT,are a group of districts within the Chittagong Division in southeastern Bangladesh,bordering India and Myanmar (Burma) in the east. Covering 13,295 square kilometres (5,133 sq mi),they formed a single district until 1984,when they were divided into three districts:Khagrachhari,Rangamati,and Bandarban.
The Chakma people or Changhma people,are an ethnic group from the eastern-most regions of the Indian subcontinent and Western Myanmar. They are the second largest ethnic group of the Chittagong Hill Tracts region of southeastern Bangladesh,and the largest in the Chakma Autonomous District Council of Mizoram,India. Significant Chakma populations are found in the northeast Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh,Tripura and Assam.
The Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti is a left wing political party formed to represent the people and indigenous tribes of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh. Since its inception in 1972,the PCJSS has fought for autonomy and the recognition of the ethnic identity and rights of the indigenous tribes of the Hill Tracts. Its military arm,the Shanti Bahini was used to fight government forces and Bengali settlers in the Hill Tracts. A peace accord was signed in 1997 led to the disarmament of the Shanti Bahini and enabled the PCJSS to return to mainstream politics.
Bandarban is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh,and a part of the Chittagong Division. It is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts,the others being Rangamati District and Khagrachhari District. Bandarban district (4,479 km2) is not only the most remote district of the country,but also the least populous. There is an army contingent at Bandarban Cantonment.
Khagrachari is a district in the Chittagong Division of Southeastern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts region.
The Tripuri people (Kókborok:Tripuri dópha rok,are a Tibeto-Burman-speaking ethnic group of Bangladesh and Northeast Indian state of Tripura. They are the descendants of the inhabitants of the Twipra/Tripura Kingdom in North-East India and Bangladesh. Rangamati Government High School,also known as RGHS is a public government high school located in Rangamati Sadar,Rangamati. It is the first operating high school in Rangamati and Chittagong Hill Tracts. It was established in 1890 during the British Raj era.
The Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board is a government agency established in 1978 by the then President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman in response to the rise of the Shanti Bahini insurgency in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Eastern Bangladesh. As of 2021,Supradip Chakma is the chairman of this development board.

Wadud Bhuiyan is a Bangladeshi politician. Bhuiyan was elected twice as the member of the Jatiya Sangsad from Khagrachari constituency respectively in the 6th and 8th National Parliamentary Elections. In addition,he served as Chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board from 2002 to 2006. He currently holds the posts of assistant employment secretary of Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and president of the opposition party's Khagrachari local unit as well.

He is from Bandarban district and was elected as a member of parliament from Bandarban constituency for the 7th time in the 12th parliamentary election. He served as the minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs from 2019 to 2024 and State Minister from 2014 to 2019.
Moni Swapan Dewan alias Major Rajesh is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician,ethnic Chakma,and a former member of parliament from the Chittagong Hill Tracts. He is also the former deputy minister for Hill Tracts Affairs.
