Personal life

Kote was the eldest among four children. His father was Javarappa and mother Rangamma. [1] He is married and has two sons. [2]

Career

Kote started his acting career in TV serial/soap Sankranti, [1] directed by his mentor T. S. Nagabharana. Kote's theater play Nele, whose message was on importance of trees, entered Limca Book of Records. [4] Kote has an acting career spanning 30 years in cinema. [2]

Tulu cinema Tulu language film industry

Tulu cinema, also known as Coastalwood, is a part of Indian cinema. The Tulu film industry produces five to seven films annually. The first Tulu film was Enna Thangadi released in 1971. Usually, earlier, these films were released in theatres across the Tulu Nadu region. But currently the Tulu film industry has grown to such an extent that films are being released simultaneously in Mangalore, Udupi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Gulf countries. The critically acclaimed Tulu film Suddha won the award for the best Indian Film at the Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema held in New Delhi in 2006. In 2011, the Tulu film Industry got a second lease of life with the release of the film Oriyardori Asal. The film turned out to be the biggest hit in Tulu film history to date. Chaali Polilu is the longest running film in Tulu film industry. This movie is the highest grossing film in the Tulu film industry. It has successfully completed 470 days at PVR Cinemas in Mangalore.

<i>Baanaadi</i> 2014 Indian Kannada film

Baanaadi is a 2014 Indian Kannada language children's film written and directed by debutant Nagaraj Kote, based on the novel Usiru he wrote. It stars Praful Vishwakarma, H. G. Dattatreya and Rajesh Nataranga in the lead roles. The supporting cast features Dhruthi, Abhinaya, Sringeri Ramanna, Jayashree Raj, Venkatachala, T. S. Nagabharana, Mimicry Gopi and Yashwanth Kote. Music for five of the six soundtracks in the film were composed by Karthik Sharma, who, with the film became the youngest composer in the history of Kannada cinema.
