Najah Chouaya (born January 10, 1988) is a Tunisian runner and Paralympic athlete. She won a silver medal for Tunisia at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in the Women's 1500 metres - T13.
Chouaya was born on January 10, 1988, in Gabes, Tunisia, with congenital blindness. [1]
At the 2006 IPC Athletics World Championships in Assen, Chouaya participated in three events. On September 4, she competed the 200 metres in 27.12 seconds, [2] placing sixth. [1] On September 6, she came fourth [1] in the 100 metres with a time of 13.42 seconds. [2] Her final event was the 400 metre-race on September 8, where she placed eighth [1] with a time of 59.92 seconds. [2]
On September 10, 2016, Chouaya participated at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro as one of thirty-one athletes competing for Tunisia. [3] She came second in the Women's 1500 metres - T13 event, winning the silver medal with a time of 4:30.52. Chouaya was second to fellow Tunisian athlete Soumaya Bousaid, who won gold. [4] [5]
On July 14, 2017, Chouaya competed at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London in the Women's 1500 metres - T13. [6] She won bronze with a time of 4:46.16, a season's best for her. [7] She came behind Bousaid in second and Sanaa Benhama in first. [8]
Assia El Hannouni is a French track and field athlete who specialises in the 800 metres Paralympic sprint. She has Retinitis pigmentosa which means that she is almost blind, with less than one tenth vision in her left eye, and zero in her right eye. She also runs against athletes without disabilities, in 800m sprint events.
Katherine Proudfoot is a cerebral palsy athlete from Australia competing mainly in throwing events. She competed in the F36 classification at the 2008, 2012 and the 2016 Summer Paralympics, winning medals at each Game. Following a medical review request in early 2017, she now competes in seated throws in the F32 classification. At the 2017 Australian Athletics Championships she threw 7.04m in the Women's Shot Put Secured event, bettering the Women's F32 shot put world record mark of 6.55m.
Michael Roeger is an Australian T46 athletics competitor. He competed at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics athletics in middle distance and marathon running events. He has won one gold and three bronze medals at the IPC Athletics World Championships and a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. His gold in the Men's T46 marathon at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships was held as part of the London Marathon, set a new world record.
Hannah Lucy Cockroft is a British wheelchair racer specialising in sprint distances in the T34 classification. She holds the world records for the 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, 800 metres and 1500 metres in her classification and the Paralympic records at 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres and 800 metres. Competing for Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, she won two gold medals. She won three further gold medals at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Deon Kenzie is an Australian Para athlete who competes in the T38 (classification) prominently in the 1500m. He has won medals at the 2013, 2015 and 2017 World Para Athletics Championships including gold in the Men's 1500 m T38 in 2017. He won a silver medal in the Men's 1500 m T38 at the 2016 Rio Paralympics and a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

This was the fourth successive appearance for the nation in a Summer Paralympic Games after it debuted at the 2004 Summer Paralympics.
