Sabak Bernam District District of Malaysia in Selangor

The Sabak Bernam District is a district and a parliamentary constituency in north-western Selangor, Malaysia. It covers an area of 997 square kilometres, and had a population of 103,153 at the 2010 Census. It is situated at the northwestern corner of Selangor. It is bordered by the state of Perak to the north, the district of Hulu Selangor to the east, the district of Kuala Selangor to the south, and the Straits of Malacca to the west. Nakhuda is a term originating from the Persian language which literally means Captain. Derived from nāv boat + khudā master, from Middle Persian khutāi a 'master of a native vessel' or 'Lord of the Ship'.

Malin Kundang Indonesian folk figure

Malin Kundang, also called Si Tanggang and Nakhoda Manis, is a Southeast Asian folktale about retribution on an ungrateful son. A sailor from a poor family, the protagonist sneaks onto a trading ship, eventually becoming rich, marrying a princess, and acquiring his own galleon. On his return to his home village, he is ashamed of his humble origins and refuses to recognise his elderly mother. She curses him, and when he sets sail, he and his ship are turned to stone.

USS Zircon (PY-16) was the private yacht Nakhoda acquired by the United States Navy in 1940 serving as an armed yacht from 1941 to 1946. The yacht Nakhoda was built for automobile executive Frederick J. Fisher by Pusey and Jones Corporation, Wilmington, Delaware delivered in 1930. After the war the yacht was sold and reverted to the original name until sold in 1951 to the United New York Sandy Hook Pilots Association and renamed New York.

KDB Nakhoda Ragam is the lead ship of the Nakhoda Ragam class and was originally built for the Royal Brunei Navy but ultimately bought by the Indonesian Navy and renamed KRI John Lie named after Indonesian Navy officer and first Chinese Indonesian National Hero, Admiral John Lie.
