Purba Medinipur district is an administrative unit in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the southernmost district of Medinipur division – one of the five administrative divisions of West Bengal. The headquarters in Tamluk. It was formed on 1 January 2002 after the Partition of Medinipur into Purba Medinipur and Paschim Medinipur which lies at the northern and western border of it. The state of Odisha is at the southwest border; the Bay of Bengal lies in the south; the Hooghly river and South 24 Parganas district to the east; Howrah district to the north-east; Paschim Medinipur district to the west.

The Bhogpur railway station is situated in Bhogpur in the district of Purba Medinipur in West Bengal in the South Eastern Railway Zone, India. The station lies between Howrah and Kharagpur. Special EMU trains are available here, and local EMU trains Howrah–Panskura, Howrah–Balichak, Howrah–Kharagpur, Howrah–Medinipur, Howrah–Haldia stop here. Also a few MEMU and passenger trains are available here, MEMU trains to TATA, BELDA are available here. Also trains to Digha and Puri also stop here. One pair of Santragachi–Digha and Mecheda–Digha trains are available here. The station has four platforms.
Kishorchak is a village in Bhogpur Gram panchayat in Kolaghat block of Tamluk sub-division of Purba Medinipur district in the state of West Bengal.Nearest town is Panskura.The village is surrounded by Namalbarh in west side, Bhogpur in east side and South Eastern Railway Zone in north and Kaminachak village in south. This village is situated near Bhogpur railway station. This railway station is main mode of transport for this village as well as other neighbouring village. Though NH6 is 5 km away from this village but people this village used it for only goods transportation, because there is no mode of public transport is available through NH6 from this village. Kishorchak Banamali High School is situated in the western side of the village and also a Bengali medium primary school is located in same side was established in 1927.
Bhogpur is a village and a Gram panchayat in the district of Purba Medinipur in the state of West Bengal. It is situated in Tamluk subdivision under Kolaghat block. Bhogpur railway station is located here. This is the main lifeline of this village, as well as other subsequent villages. Two more rail stations, Nandaigajan and Narayan Pakuria Murail, are under this gram panchayat. People of Nandaigajan, Naryan Pakuria use the nearest station, although Bhogpur railway station is used more than these two. Bhogpur market is the main market of this Gram panchayat. The village under this Gram panchayat is Bhogpur itself and Kishorchak, Namalbarh, Kodalia, Nandaigajan, and Naryan Pakuria. Three banks provide service here, two of them are nationalized and one is the Gramin bank. The Gramin Bank is Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank and two nationalized banks are Union Bank of India and United Bank of India. There is also a post office named Bhogpur S.O.(721151).
