Nandiambakkam is a suburb in northern part of Chennai, Tiruvallur district, [2] Tamil Nadu, India. [3] It is a northern part of Chennai city. It has a population of around 17,000 people. The neighbourhood is served by Nandiambakkam railway station, [4] of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network, MTC bus services which run from Minjur to Madras High court, Minjur to Ennore, and Minjur to CMBT and vice-versa.

Nandiambakkam is one of the suburban places of Chennai which is growing in terms of Education, Industrialization, Agriculture which is expanding leaps and bounds. Minjur in its area wise twice than that of Thiruvottiyur and thrice of Ponneri is very much near to Nandiambakkam.

Minjur desalination plant which supplies 100 million litres of water per day to Chennai city was inaugurated on 31 July 2010.

Outer Ring Road (ORR) which connects Southern Chennai (Vandalur on NH 45) to Northern Chennai (Minjur) is a main part of the CMDA's Second Master Plan for the greater Chennai, which covers Nandiambakkam region with much development in process the village and town next to it are slowly becoming residential place for people in the greater Chennai.

Chennai Egmore, formerly known as Madras Egmore, also known as Chennai Elumbur, is a railway station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The station was built in 1906–1908 as the terminus of the South Indian Railway Company. The building built in Gothic style is one of the prominent landmarks of Chennai. Egmore is a neighbourhood of Chennai, India. Situated on the northern banks of the Coovum River, Egmore is an important residential area as well as a commercial and transportation hub. Minjur is a town located in the outskirts of North Chennai, India. It is located in the Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Minjur is called 'Vada Kanchi' meaning North Kanchipuram. The town has two famous temples for Shiva and Vishnu, similar to Kanchipuram. The neighbourhood is served by Minjur railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network.

Royapuram railway station is a railway station at Royapuram, on the Chennai Beach–Walajapet section of the Chennai Suburban Railway network in Chennai, India. It is the second oldest railway station currently operational in India after Howrah railway station situated in Howrah, West Bengal and the first railway station of South India. The first train of South India started operating in June 1856 from Royapuram railway station. The station also remained the headquarters of the Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway till 1922, when the headquarters was shifted to Egmore. Since the original structures of Bombay and Thane stations no longer exist, Royapuram station remains the oldest railway station in the entire subcontinent.

Avadi railway station is one of the major railway termini of the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Avadi, a suburb of Chennai located 23 km west of the city centre. It is situated at Tirumalairajapuram locality of Avadi, with an elevation of 26.85 m above sea level. According to a railway release in 2008, there are plans to develop Avadi station as a coaching terminal for Chennai Central railway station, on the lines of Tambaram station being developed as a terminal for Egmore railway station.

Kadambathur, also spelt Kadambattur, is a town located in Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a census town in Tiruvallur taluk. According to the 2011 census, the town has a population of 11,235.

Sivapuram, also called Sivapuram Colony) is a small village/hamlet in Minjur block in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, India. It comes under Aladu Panchayath. It is located 45 kilometers west of the district headquarters Tiruvallur, 1 km from Minjur and 34 kilometers from the state capital Chennai. PIN for Sivapuram is 601204 and postal head office is Ponneri.
