Nat Knowles (born 29 October 1948) is a Bahamian boxer. He competed in the men's middleweight event at the 1972 Summer Olympics. [1] Knowles won a silver medal at the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games. [2]

Darold Duane Knowles is an American former professional baseball pitcher and coach, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1965 through 1980, most notably as a member of the Oakland Athletics dynasty that won three consecutive World Series championships between 1972 and 1974. In the 1973 World Series, Knowles became the first pitcher to appear in all seven games of a World Series. He also played for the Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Senators, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos, and St. Louis Cardinals. Knowles batted and threw left-handed. In 2014, he was hired as the pitching coach of the Florida State League's Dunedin Blue Jays.

Eugenio Balanqué Llópiz is a retired Cuban decathlete. He won the 1993 Central American and Caribbean Games and took silver medals at the 1991 Pan American Games, the 1995 Pan American Games and the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games. He also participated at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics, without success.

The Bahamas sent a delegation of athletes to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics, which were held in Beijing, People's Republic of China from 8 to 24 August 2008. Its Beijing appearance marked its fourteenth time at the Olympics since its début at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. The delegation included 25 athletes across four sports and nineteen distinct events. Its athletes advanced to semifinals in eight events and finals in five events, medaling in two of them. The Bahamian delegation was one of the largest sent between its début and 2008. The country's flag bearer was Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie.

Of these four athletes, Danielle Beaubrun, at age 18, was the youngest of the competitors. Alexis Copello is a Cuban triple jumper who since 2017 competes internationally for Azerbaijan. He has a (legal) personal best jump of 17.68 metres (58.0 ft). He is a World Championship medalist, having won the bronze at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. He is 1.85 metres tall and weighs 80 kilograms (176 lbs).
