NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is an international, educational association of individuals engaged in the work of academic advising. Its membership of over 10,000 international individuals is reported to include representatives from more than 2,400 institutions and organizations related to higher education; individuals are classified by status as a faculty member, professional advisor, graduate student, student support personnel, peer advisors, and administrators. [1] Its stated goal is to serve staff and faculty who provide academic advising to post-secondary students. The NACADA Executive Office has been housed in Manhattan, Kansas on the campus of Kansas State University since 1990. [2]
NACADA is a member of the American Council on Education, the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education CAS, [3] and maintains a partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association to further student-athlete development and academic success. [4]
The NACADA organization sponsors conferences, institutes, scholarships, [5] web-based resources and seminars, Commission and Interest Groups, research-based publications, a speaker and consultants’ service, and an awards program. Online master's degree, [6] doctorate, and graduate certificate programs [7] are offered in conjunction with Kansas State University.
The NACADA website houses an indexed list of articles, statistics, and peer-reviewed scholarly articles, the Clearinghouse of Academic Advising Resources, [8] as a free resource for both members and non-members. The site strictly adheres to scholarly standards on copyright and appropriate citation of sources and may be useful for practitioners, researchers, and students investigating student success, persistence, and graduation from institutions of higher education.
NACADA holds an annual conference to address issues in academic advising. A specific theme is chosen, around which the sessions and presentations are designed.

Western Oregon University (WOU) is a public university in Monmouth, Oregon. It was originally established in 1856 by Disciples of Christ pioneers as Monmouth University. Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated (ΣΛΒ) is a historically Latino based fraternity in the United States, now expanded to include a multicultural membership. Founded in 1986 at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa the primary purpose of Sigma Lambda Beta is to promote Latino culture based upon the values of fairness, opportunity, and equality. Academic advising is, according to the National Academic Advising Association, "a series of intentional interactions with a curriculum, a pedagogy, and a set of student learning outcomes. Academic advising synthesizes and contextualizes students' educational experiences within the frameworks of their aspirations, abilities and lives to extend learning beyond campus boundaries and timeframes."
The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE), chartered in 1915, is a non-profit scientific and educational society in the United States that supports geography education.
The Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies or FACSS is a scientific society incorporated on June 28, 1972, with the goal of promoting research and education in analytical chemistry. The organization combined the many smaller meetings of the individual societies into an annual meeting that includes all of analytical chemistry. The meetings are intended to provide a forum for scientists to address the development of analytical chemistry, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
"'Days of Light'" is a song by Roger Daltrey from his eighth solo album, Rocks in the Head. The song was written by Daltrey and Gerard McMahon, and features lyrics about looking forward to the weekend. According to Daltrey, the song was inspired by his early career as a worker in a sheet-metal factory.
