National Digital Archives (Polish : Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe, NAC) are the national archives of Poland, collecting and digitising audiovisual materials. [2]

Contents

National Digital Archives are one of three central State Archives (Archiwa Państwowe), other two being Central Archives of Historical Records and Archives of Modern Records  [ pl ]. [3] National Digital Archives were established on 28 March 2008 by transforming the Archives of Audiovisual Records (Archiwum Dokumentacji Mechanicznej 'Mechanical Documentation Archives') created in 1955. National Digital Archives' collection include: [6]

which are all divided into 159 groups. [7] Whole collection is available for the public through the Archives' reading room, while digitilised records are made accessible through a website Szukaj w Archiwach 'Search in Archives' ( www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl ) run by the NAC. [8] [9]

The Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry is the trade organization that represents the interests of the music industry in Poland, and the Polish chapter of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw is one of Poland's three national archives. It holds records ranging from 12th century until World War I. The current headquarters is located in Raczyński Palace located at Długa 7 Street in Warsaw.

The looting of Polish cultural artifacts and industrial infrastructure during World War II was carried out by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union simultaneously after the invasion of Poland of 1939. A significant portion of Poland's cultural heritage, estimated at half a million art objects, was plundered by the occupying powers. Catalogued pieces are still occasionally recovered elsewhere in the world and returned to Poland.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Majdanek State Museum</span> Holocaust museum in Lublin, Poland

The Majdanek State Museum is a memorial museum and education centre founded in the fall of 1944 on the grounds of the Nazi Germany Majdanek death camp located in Lublin, Poland. It was the first museum of its kind in the world, devoted entirely to the memory of atrocities committed in the network of concentration, slave-labor, and extermination camps and subcamps of KL Lublin during World War II. The museum performs several tasks including scholarly research into the Holocaust in Poland. It houses a permanent collection of rare artifacts, archival photographs, and testimony.

Państwowe Wytwórnie Uzbrojenia was a Polish state-owned industrial conglomerate. Formed in 1927, the company quickly became the largest defence contractor of inter-war Poland. The company was state-owned. It was governed by the 9-member Administrative Council and the Director, both directly subordinate to the Minister of Military Affairs.
