The National Team Championship, which was played under a variety of names, was a team golf tournament played from 1965 to 1972. It was an official PGA Tour event from 1968 to 1972. [1]

The PGA Championship is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. It is one of the four men's major golf championships.
Peter William Thomson was an Australian professional golfer. He won the Open Championship five times between 1954 and 1965.
Thomas Alfred Horton, was an English professional golfer. He finished in the top ten of the Open Championship four times, won a number of important tournaments both before and after the founding of the European Tour in 1972 and played in the Ryder Cup in 1975 and 1977. He reached 50 just before the founding of the European Seniors Tour and won 23 times on the tour between 1992 and 2000.
Mark Stephen Hayes was an American professional golfer. He had three victories on the PGA Tour in the 1970s, including the 1977 Tournament Players Championship. He played in the 1979 Ryder Cup as a late replacement for Tom Watson.

Craig Ralph Wood was an American professional golfer in the 1930s and 1940s, the winner of 21 PGA Tour titles including two major championships and a member of three Ryder Cup teams (1931, 1933, 1935).

Jack A. Vickers Jr. was an oil and sports executive who started work for Vickers Petroleum Company in 1946 as a scout. After he held vice president positions from 1949 to 1952, Vickers became president of Vickers Petroleum in 1952. During the 1960s, he was an executive for Bell Oil & Gas and TransOcean Oil. Vickers also worked as a chair for Vickers Energy Corporation from 1973 to 1980.
