Zhalong Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang province is designated as a national nature reserve by the Chinese government.

Czech Republic

Soos National Nature Reserve was designated as a nature reserve by the government of the Czech Republic.

Falkland Islands

Beauchêne Island was designated as a national nature reserve by the government of the Falkland Islands in 1964. [1]

France

In France, national nature reserves have been designated since 1976, [2] and are designated by a decree from either a minister or the Conseil d'Etat. [3] As of 2022 there are 168 natural nature reserves in France. [4] [5]

Isle of Man

Point of Ayre is designated as a national nature reserve by the Manx government.

Russia

The North-Ossetian National Nature Reserve in the Caucasus Mountains is designated as a national nature reserve by the Russian government.

United Kingdom

In the United Kingdom, "national nature reserves" are those designed by one of the national conservancy bodies, Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, NatureScot, or the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. In total, there are 386 national nature reserves in the UK.

Petite Terre Islands National Nature Reserve is a reserve of the Petite Terre Islands in Guadeloupe. The reserve was established by Decree No. 98-801 of 3 September 1998 as the nature reserve for the islands of Petite Terre. It covers an area of about 990 hectares, which is demarcated by five points fixed with buoys, and includes a land area of 148.6 hectares with the balance as sea area.

La Désirade National Nature Reserve is a reserve in Désirade Island in Guadeloupe. Established under the Ministerial Decree No. 2011-853 of 19 July 2011 for its special geological features it has an area of 62 ha. The reserve represents the geological heritage of the Caribbean tectonic plate, with a wide spectrum of rock formations, the outcrops of volcanic activity being remnants of the sea level oscillations. It is one of thirty three geosites of Guadeloupe.

The Pointe de Givet National Nature Reserve (RNN145) is a national nature reserve of the Grand Est region of France. Established in 1999, it spreads over 354 hectares and protects a group of sites recognised for their rich geology, flora and fauna.

A national nature reserve, in French réserve naturelle nationale, (RNN) is a protected area that is part of natural reserves of France (RNF) and whose status is defined by the law on local democracy of February 27, 2002. It is a tool for the long-term protection of spaces, species or geological objects. The duration of its protection is unlimited.

The national parks of Quebec are provincial parks created by the government of Quebec to protect territories representative of natural regions of the province or sites of exceptional character, while making them accessible to the public for education and/or recreation. As of 2023, there are 28 such parks in Quebec, which protect an area of 42,765.57 kilometres (26,573.29 mi), or about 2.8% of the territory of the province. All but four parks are administered by the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq). Those four are administered by Nunavik Parks. In addition, Sépaq jointly administers a National Marine Conservation Area with Parks Canada as part of the country's national park system.
