Ndani TV was established in 2012 by GTBank to offer both entertainment and informative content in order to attract a youthful customer base. [1] [3] It was the first online video content vehicle launched by a Nigerian bank and has grown into a media company. [1] Since its launch, Ndani TV gained traction with productions such as Frank Donga's The Interview, Skinny Girl in Transit and the Ndani TGIF show. [3]

NdaniTV's YouTube channel has over 107 million views and over 519,000 subscribers at January 2023. [3]

Ndani TV offers its audience an insider's look at the African continent, Hence the name 'Ndani' which is a Swahili word for 'Inside.' [1] [4] [5]

Oga Pastor Controversy

After 3 episodes aired, it was noted that NdaniTV took down Oga Pastor, a series about the life of a pastor balancing personal issues, scandals and church responsibilities. This occurred in the midst of sexual assault allegations against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and led to speculation of the take down being related to the situation. Ndani TV did not issue an official statement. [23] [24]

The series was created by Jadesola Osiberu and executively produced by Lola Odedina. It is produced by Ndani TV and sponsored by GTBank. Owing to unknown reasons, the show was not picked up for a third season. The show was cancelled after two seasons. Episodes are first aired online through Ndani.tv web channel, and the first episode was aired on 20 February 2013.

The second season of Gidi Up was originally aired on Ndani TV from 23 June 2014 through 29 September 2014. The season which has twelve episodes, directed by Jadesola Osiberu, is set in Lagos, Abuja and Calabar, and continues to follow the lives of "four socialites as they strive to make it in a world that is anything but fair".

<i>Skinny Girl in Transit</i> Nigerian comedy webseries

Skinny Girl in Transit is a Nigerian Comedy webseries by NdaniTV. The first episode was released on NdaniTV's YouTube page on 16 Jul 2015. The idea for the series was pitched by Temi Balogun. The series returned to NdaniTV for its fifth season on November 9, 2018 after being on hiatus for over a year. The series returned again for the sixth season, the first episode of season 6 aired on February 14, 2020.

Oga! Pastor is a Nigerian drama web series by NdaniTV which was released on NdaniTV's YouTube page in June 2019. The show which was created and written by Lani Aisida ran for 3 episodes until it was canceled by the channel.

Lani Aisida is a Nigerian screenwriter and producer. Among the shows and films he's written for are Oga! Pastor, Skinny Girl in Transit, and Just Not Married, with the last earning him a nomination for a Best of Nollywood Award for Best Screenplay. He has been nicknamed the "King of Web Series" for writing popular webs series.
