Nedervetil (Finnish: Alaveteli) [1] is a former municipality in Ostrobothnia, Finland. It is now part of Kronoby municipality.

It has given its Finnish name to Alaveteli [ citation needed ], open source software to help in Freedom of Information enquiries, because Anders Chydenius (1729–1803), an early proponent of freedom of the press, lived and worked as a curate in this area for some years.

Maaria is a former municipality of Finland in what is now the northern part of the city of Turku. The area has been inhabited since the Iron Age, and it became an important village in the 15th century with the construction of a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Also Koroinen, with the former residence of the Bishop of Finland is in the area. The municipality of Maaria was founded in 1868, and it included the northern parts of modern Turku south of Paattinen, some enclaves to the north of Paattinen, and the island of Hirvensalo to the south of Turku.

Karuna was a municipality in Southwest Finland region of Western Finland Province, Finland, until 1969 when it merged into the municipality of Sauvo. Part of the former municipality, the village of Sandö, was merged into the municipality of Kimito. In 1963, Karuna had 1,213 inhabitants. About 700 people inhabit the area currently. A peculiarity regarding the church of Karuna is that the older wooden church from 1685 was transported into the open-air museum of Seurasaari, Helsinki, and replaced by a stone church in 1910 designed by Josef Stenbäck.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Replot</span>

Replot is an island in the Kvarken, the narrowest part of the Gulf of Bothnia in the northern part of the Baltic sea. It has about 2,100 inhabitants, almost only Swedish-speaking. The size is about 150 square kilometres (58 sq mi), one of the largest islands of Finland. Replot was an independent municipality until 1973, when it was consolidated to the municipality of Korsholm, near Vaasa.

Zhitkovo is a settlement on Karelian Isthmus, in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast. It was known as Ristseppälä until 1948. It was a station of the Vyborg–Veshchevo–Zhitkovo–Michurinskoye railroad constructed by Finland in the 1920s. However, the Zhitkovo-Michurinskoye link has been dismantled in the 1950s, and the Veshchevo-Zhitkovo link in 2001.

Peñaflor is a municipality in the province of Seville, Spain.

Municipal elections were held in Finland on 28 October 2012, with advance voting between 17 and 23 October 2012. 9,674 municipal council seats were open for election in 304 municipalities. The number of councillors decreased by over 700 compared to the previous election due to the merging of several municipalities. The term of the elected councillors will begin on 1 January 2013.
