Neon Horse was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed by Mark Salomon, Jason Martin and Steven Dail. They were previously signed to Tooth & Nail Records with whom they have released two studio albums. Neon Horse's sound has been described as being influenced by the music of the 1980s. [1]

Members

Stavesacre lead singer Mark Salomon and Starflyer 59 founder Jason Martin wrote all songs on the band's self-titled debut album. [2] The September 2007 issue of Alternative Press states, "[Y]ou'll notice that you never see them in the same room at the same time with members of Stavesacre, Starflyer 59 and Joy Electric."

On April 10, 2008, Neon Horse performed live at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Mark Salomon (of Stavesacre) was the singer, Jason Martin (of Starflyer 59) played guitar, and Steven Dail (of Project 86 and Crash Rickshaw) played bass.

On July 28, 2009, their second album titled Haunted Horse: Songs of Love, Defiance, and Delusion was made available for purchase in both mp3 and CD format.

As of 2011, Neon Horse's artist profile is no longer featured on the Tooth & Nail Records' 'Current Artists' website, but the band did resurrect in 2024 with a four-song EP, Habit of Creature, on CD, vinyl, and digital formats on the Velvet Blue Music label.

Starflyer 59 is an American alternative rock band from Riverside, California that was founded in 1993 by Jason Martin, brother of Ronnie Martin of Joy Electric. While Jason Martin has written nearly all of Starflyer 59's songs, the band has included a number of different musicians over the years, including Jeff Cloud, Frank Lenz, and Richard Swift. The band's sound was initially identified as an outgrowth of the shoegaze movement of the early 1990s, but the band's music has gradually evolved to the point of little resemblance to that of its early days.

The Crucified is an American Christian hardcore and crossover thrash band from Fresno, California that formed in 1984. Its lineup is vocalist Mark Salomon, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Jeff Bellew, and drummer Jim Chaffin. The band are considered "pioneers of Christian hardcore." During their initial 1984–1993 tenure, the band played at the Cornerstone Festival several times, and also opened for non-religious punk and metal bands like D.R.I. and Pantera. The band broke up in 1993 due to personal differences, but reunited in 2009.

Jason Martin is a musician from Southern California. He is best known as a member of the indie rock band Starflyer 59, one of the first bands to sign with Tooth & Nail Records.

Calico Sunset is a Bakersfield, California-based electropop band, comprising Joseph Andreotti and Jenny Alvis. Calico Sunset is signed to Jeff Cloud's Velvet Blue Music. Calico Sunset's debut album on VBM, "Deep Deep Paranoia," was produced by and featured Frank Lenz and featured Josh Dooley on guitar. Shortly after the release of "Deep Deep Paranoia," Calico Sunset joined Joy Electric on a national tour. Calico Sunset has also shared the stage with such bands as Moving Units, The Fever, Starflyer 59, Freezepop, Broken Spindles.

Randy Torres is an American guitarist, percussionist, keyboardist and background vocalist from Seattle. He has previously played for the bands Project 86, a Christian rock group, and Crash Rickshaw. He has filled in as rhythm guitarist for the band Demon Hunter and as keyboardist, guitarist, percussionist and background vocalist for Anberlin on a recent tour. He has worked as a producer/engineer for Aaron Sprinkle, and for the A&R division of Tooth & Nail Records. He is now a composer for film & TV. He currently is working on a project with Ryan Clark called NYVES, funded through Kickstarter.

Crash Rickshaw is a side project of the post-hardcore band Project 86. It was founded by Alex Albert, Steven Dail and Joby Harris, with Randy Torres joining later. Crash Rickshaw released their self-titled album on September 11, 2001, on Tooth & Nail Records. Their second album, The Unknown Clarity, was released on iTunes on March 11, 2008.
