The Nepal national baseball team is a national team of Nepal and in the sport of Baseball. [3] They made their debut in the 2017 West Asian Baseball Cup. [4] [5]

History

Baseball was introduced to Nepal in the 1980s by a group of youth who had been exposed to the sport in the United States. The development of organized baseball in Nepal began in 1999, with the debut of NPO Japan Club Laligurans. [6]

After the establishment of the Nepal Baseball & Softball Association (NBSA)https://nbsa.org.np/} it started to work for the development and promotion of the game. [7] Nepal national baseball team earn maiden international victory against Iraq in the 13th BFA Asia Baseball Championship in 2017. [3]

As of September 2022, WBSC Europe counts 40 members for baseball and 39 for softball.

The WBSC Asia, formerly known as, Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) is the governing body of the sport of baseball and softball in Asia. The federation is governed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation.

The Pakistan national baseball team is the national team representing Pakistan in international baseball tournaments and competitions. The team is controlled and governed by the Pakistan Federation Baseball, which is represented in the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA), having been ranked #5 in Asia, just behind China. They are ranked as the top and one of the most successful baseball teams in South Asia, winning the first SAARC Baseball Championship 8–2 against Sri Lanka in 2011. The WBSC World Rankings is a ranking system for national teams in baseball, softball, and baseball5. The teams of the member nations of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), baseball's world governing body, are ranked based on their tournament results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A point system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of WBSC-recognized international tournaments. Under the existing system, rankings are based on a team's performance over the last four years, with major international tournaments awarded a higher weighting compared to minor international and continental tournaments.

The U-15 Baseball World Cup is the 15-and-under baseball world championship that features national teams as authorized ("sanctioned") by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). It began in 1989 as the World Youth Baseball Championship. In 2012 it became the 15U Baseball World Cup and is contested every two years. Because it is a world championship event, the results of the 15U Baseball World Cup affect the WBSC World Rankings.

World Baseball Softball Confederation is the world governing body for the sports of baseball, softball, and Baseball5. It was established in 2013 by the merger of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and International Softball Federation (ISF), the former world governing bodies for baseball and softball, respectively. Under WBSC's organizational structure, IBAF and ISF now serve as the Baseball Division and Softball Division of WBSC. Each division is governed by an executive committee, while the WBSC is governed by an executive board.

The 2017 Asian Baseball Cup was an international baseball tournament contested by the men's national teams of WBSC Asia's member associations. It was the 13th edition of the biannual Asian Baseball Cup, and served as qualification to the 2017 Asian Baseball Championship. It was divided into two separate divisions, East and West, alternatively called the 2017 East Asian Baseball Cup and 2017 West Asian Baseball Cup.

The 30th Asian Baseball Championship was an international professional baseball competition for Asian men's national teams. It was held in Taiwan. It began on 3 December 2023 and ended on 10 December 2023. Japan won the championship, its 20th title.
