The Palestine national baseball team is the national baseball team of Palestine, representing the country in international competitions. [2]
The team is controlled by the Palestinian Baseball and Softball Federation, which is a member of the Baseball Federation of Asia since 2017. Palestine won its first international tournament at the 2025 West Asia Baseball Cup.
Palestine first organized a national baseball team around 2017, starting with a small number of players from the Gaza Strip. The team then recruited several Palestinian American players, which eventually grew to make up a larger part of the team after the Gaza war cut off access to many homegrown players starting in 2023. [3] At least two players of the national team have been killed in the war as of September 2025 [update] : outfielder and team captain Ashraf Awad Murad, killed near Al-Shifa Hospital in March 2024, and infielder/outfielder Mustafa Ahmad Tafesh, killed in August 2025. [4]
As part of preparation for the 2025 Asian Baseball Championship, Palestine competed in an exhibition series against Pakistan at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, Illinois. [5] [6]
