Newport Titans RLFC were a rugby league side based in the city of Newport, South Wales. Since 2013, they had been based at Newport Saracens RFC. They played in the Welsh Premier of the Rugby League Conference.
Newport Titans RLFC were formed in 2004 as founder members of the new Rugby League Conference Welsh Division. The founding members found a home for the Titans at Pill Harriers RFC and appointed former international Dai Watkins as President. In their inaugural season Titans finished fourth in the table and were Welsh Shield runners-up.
The Titans were close to winning the Welsh Grand Final in 2007.
They won the Welsh plate in 2009 beating Dinefwr Sharks in the final.
Newport Titans dropped the 'Newport' preface from their name in 2011 when they moved to Machen RFC. The Titans remained here for two seasons.
The "Newport" preface was again used for the Titans on their return to Newport in 2013. Newport Titans have no future plans to move back out of the city.
Titans' junior teams take part in the Welsh Conference Junior League. A new U13s Junior team is looking to be set up for the 2014 season.

Dragons RFC are one of the four professional rugby union regional teams in Wales. They are owned by the Welsh Rugby Union and play their home games at Rodney Parade, Newport. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup/European Rugby Challenge Cup. The region they represent covers an area of southeast Wales including Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen with a total population approaching 600,000 and they are affiliated with a number of semi-professional and amateur clubs throughout the area, including Pontypool RFC, Caerphilly RFC, Cross Keys RFC, Ebbw Vale RFC and Newport RFC.
Pontypridd Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It competes in the Indigo Group Premiership, that it won for four consecutive seasons between 2012 and 2015, and the WRU National Cup, that it has won on 6 different occasions, the most recent being in 2014.

As a club, Bedford Tigers have moved to their own ground in 2018 and boast two senior sides as well as two junior sides, a satellite programme and proposed schools program too.
The Midlands Hurricanes are a semi-professional rugby league club based in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. They were founded in 2021 and took over the professional franchise owned by Coventry Bears previously entering the third tier of the British rugby league system, currently known as League 1 in 2015.

Brian "Mad Dog" Juliff is a Welsh former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales 'B', Wales President's XV, East Wales, Glamorgan County RFC, at invitational level for Crawshays RFC, and at club level Mountain Ash RFC, Newport RFC and Pontypridd RFC, as a Left-Wing, or Outside-Centre, i.e. number 11, or 13, and representative rugby league (RL) for Wales, and at club level for Widnes, Wakefield Trinity, Wigan, Halifax and Castleford, as a wing, second-row, loose forward, i.e. number 2 or 5, 11 or 12, or 13, during the era of contested scrums. In June 2012 Juliff was appointed as the chairman of Wales Rugby League.

Caerleon Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union club based in Caerleon on the northern outskirts of Newport in South Wales. The club is a large community with teams at most age levels, as well as the First XV and a Seconds side known as "The Helmets". This stems from the club's logo – the helmet of a Roman centurion.
