BBC Radio 1 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day. The station provides alternative genres at night, including electronica, dance, hip hop and indie, while its sister station 1Xtra plays black contemporary music, including hip hop and R&B. Radio 1 also runs an additional online stream, Radio 1 Dance, dedicated to dance music, available to listen only on BBC Sounds.

It is a half-hour round-up of the day's top stories with analysis of their possible impact from the channel's specialists. The show is presented by Anna Botting from Monday to Thursday and Gillian Joseph from Friday to Sunday.
BBC World News America is an American current affairs news program created by Garth Ancier and produced by BBC News, which premiered on October 1, 2007. Produced out of the BBC's Washington, D.C. bureau, Caitríona Perry and Sumi Somaskanda are the main presenters. World Briefing is BBC World Service's longtime news strand. It has broadcast roughly more than 13,000 unique episodes. Along with The World Today, Newshour, World Update and World: Have Your Say, it covered a large part of the schedule. It was broadcast on the hour as a half-hour programme whenever other news strands were not on air. Each individual version of the BBC World Service opted in or out of various editions. Public radio stations around the world also broadcast various editions of World Briefing.
Newsday, styled also as Newsday with Steve Lai is a news programme on BBC News that was first broadcast on 13 June 2011. The programme is mainly presented by Steve Lai in Singapore. The programme began as a dual-presented bulletin from Singapore and London. During important news stories, the programme has previously been broadcast from Washington with either Sumi Somaskanda instead of the traditional London broadcast. Such news stories have included the death of Muhammad Ali, Hillary Clinton receiving the Democratic nomination, and Donald Trump getting important votes in his presidential nomination for the Republican Party.
