Newton is a ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, England. [1] On the eastern bank of the River Tame, it is currently represented by 3 Labour Party councillors, who sit on the Metropolitan Borough Council. [2]

Newton is part of the West Bromwich East parliament constituency for elections to the House of Commons. The local MP is currently Conservative, Nicola Richards. [3]

Abbey is an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. The ruins of Reading Abbey lie within the boundaries of the ward, a fact from which it derives its name.
