Transvision Vamp were an English pop rock band. Formed in 1986 by Nick Christian Sayer and Wendy James, the band enjoyed chart success in the late 1980s, particularly in 1989. James, the lead singer and focal-point of the group, attracted media attention with her sexually charged and rebellious image. The band had 10 UK chart hits and also enjoyed considerable success in Australia. Transvision Vamp's top single was 1989's "Baby I Don't Care", which reached number three in the UK and Australian charts.

Livin' Joy are an Italian and American Eurodance group who released various successful hits during the mid-1990s, including "Dreamer", "Don't Stop Movin'", "Follow the Rules" and “Where Can I Find Love”. Here Come the Drums is the second studio album by Australian band Rogue Traders, released in Australia on 23 October 2005 by Columbia Records. The album features the Rogue Traders with the then-new vocalist Natalie Bassingthwaighte and songs primarily in the genre of dance-pop, written by Jamie Appleby, Steven Davis and Melinda Appleby. Here Come the Drums debuted in the top ten on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart.
English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys have released 15 studio albums, five live albums, nine compilation albums, four remix albums, five soundtrack albums, four extended plays and over seventy singles. The duo's debut single, "West End Girls", was first released in 1984 but failed to chart in most regions. However, the song was entirely re-recorded in late 1985, and this newly recorded version became their first number-one single, topping the UK Singles Chart, Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Singles Chart. Parlophone released the duo's debut album, Please, in the United Kingdom in March 1986. The following summer they released "It's a Sin", the lead single from their second album, Actually. The single became another UK number one and also reached number nine in the US. This was followed by "What Have I Done to Deserve This?", with Dusty Springfield, which peaked at number two in both the UK and US. In the summer of 1987, the Pet Shop Boys recorded a cover of Brenda Lee's song "Always on My Mind", which became their third UK number-one single over Christmas 1987. This was followed by another UK number one, "Heart", in spring 1988. The album Actually was released in September 1987, peaked at number two in the UK and was certified three-times platinum by the BPI.

Worldwide, Lauper has sold approximately 50 million albums, singles and DVDs. The discography of an Australian electropunk group Rogue Traders consists of four studio albums, one compilation album, and seventeen singles under Vicious Grooves and Sony BMG. Rogue Traders were formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2000 by DJs James Ash and Steve Davis. Their debut album We Know What You're Up To was released in May 2003, over a full year after the release of the original lead single "Need You to Show Me", which failed to chart and was not included on the released album. The following single, "Give in to Me" also failed to gain success, peaking at #67 on the ARIA Singles Chart, however the next single, "One of My Kind", a remix of "Need You Tonight" by INXS scored the band-then-duo their first top ten position, peaking at #10 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and won the award for "Best Dance Track" at the 2003 ARIA Music Awards. The following single, "Stay?", failed to reach the success of its preceding single, as did the album, We Know What You're Up To, peaking at #60 and failing to chart, respectively.

The first single, "The Right Stuff", found success on the R&B chart, while the second single, "He's Got the Look", found similar success on the same chart. In October 2012, the Official Charts Company claimed Houston was the fourth biggest-selling female singles artist of all time with a sales total of 8.5 million singles in that country.
