Newtown Radio is a freeform Internet radio station with a studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York. Newtown was founded in 2009 by Mark Brinda, Tariq Abdus-Sabur and Colin Ilgen in a former brewery It features around the clock programming by blogs, artists, and labels. [1]

Showcases

In 2011, Newtown's Northside festival showcase at Shea Stadium BK in Bushwick with Laurel Halo, Autre Ne Veut, and Steve Summers was reviewed positively in The New York Times by Jon Caramanica. [7]

In 2015, in conjunction with PopRally, the planning committee at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Newtown co-curated four summer concerts in the MoMA Sculpture Garden, featuring: Galcher Lustwerk and DJ Willy Burns, Lower Dens and DJ Stadiums & Shrines, Regal Degal and DJ Michael McGregor, Tei Shi and DJ Lomé. "H.A.T.E.U." is a song by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey from her twelfth studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009). It was written and produced by Carey, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream. It was released as the third single from the album on November 1, 2009, for radio airplay in the United States. It is a down-tempo R&B love song about Carey wishing for the love and pain she feels from a break-up to turn into hate so she can get over the relationship. The song garnered a positive response from music critics, with many ranking it amongst the best on the album. The song's music video was directed by Brett Ratner in Malibu, and features Carey in a variety of swimsuits walking along the beach. She has performed the track live on Today and Late Show with David Letterman. "H.A.T.E.U." reached number 72 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Coby Sey is a British musician, songwriter, artist, vocalist and NTS Radio host, born and based in Lewisham, South East London. He has worked with musicians Tirzah, Mica Levi, DELS, Kwes, Laurel Halo, Klein, Lafawndah and London Contemporary Orchestra, artists Hannah Perry and Maëva Berthelot and has remixed Kelly Lee Owens, Max de Wardener and Leifur James. In 2019 he had a featured session on BBC Radio 3 Late Junction in an improvised collaboration with PAN affiliated artist Pan Daijing. Sey is also a founder and member of a loose collective named Curl. Sey released his debut album, Conduit, on 9 September 2022 on AD 93 to critical acclaim.
