Ngaio Bealum is an American comedian, musician, writer, actor, activist, juggler and publisher. [1] He co-hosted Cannabis Planet and published West Coast Cannabis Magazine. [2] Bealum hosted a podcast on Cannabis Radio. The podcast was formatted as a travelogue, covering live cannabis events with a discussion on current cannabis topics and trends. [3] Bealum was a contributor for the Sacramento News & Review, writing the Ask420 column on marijuana and its politics, as well as a host on the cannabis trivia app Daily Bonfire. [4]

Ngaio was born in San Francisco to hippie parents, who were active in their community as Black Panthers. As an entertainer and activist, Bealum guests on television and cultural commentary podcasts, notably on topics concerning the cannabis industry. From new products and technology, as well as cannabis activism and legalization. [5] [6] Bealum is a frequent guest on Getting Doug With High hosted by fellow comedian Doug Benson, regularly hosts High Times events, and participates in the annual International Cannabis Business Conference. [7] [8] His debut comedy album "Weed and Sex" was released in 2012. [9] Bealum was also a member of the award-winning hip hop band Most Chill Slackmob (vocals, percussion), [10] and 1994 People's Choice Award winner of the International Jugglers Association Fest.

Bealum featured on a line of cannabis "pre-rolls" through Mothership Farms, where he showcased unique Cannabis strains through his close relationship with growers. The first release was Tahoe Nebula. [11] He also has a featured strain through Natural Cannabis' "High Life Celebrities" line. [12]

Oaksterdam is a cultural district on the north end of Downtown Oakland, California, where medical cannabis is available for purchase in cafés, clubs, and patient dispensaries. Oaksterdam is located between downtown proper, the Lakeside, and the financial district. It is roughly bordered by 14th Street on the southwest, Harrison Street on the southeast, 19th Street on the northeast, and Telegraph Avenue on the northwest. The name is a portmanteau of "Oakland" and "Amsterdam," due to the Dutch city's cannabis coffee shops and the drug policy of the Netherlands.

Cooking on High is an American cooking competition television show that premiered on streaming platform Netflix on June 22, 2018. The show's premise centers on cooking foods that contain marijuana as an ingredient. The guest chefs are professional cannabis cooks whose knowledge of infused food take a center role in their careers as private chefs and medicinal marijuana educators. The show is hosted by YouTuber Josh Leyva.
