Nicholas Montgomery McCrory (born August 9, 1991) is an American psychiatrist, former diver and was a member of the national team from 2007 to 2014.
He won his first international medal, a silver, at the World Junior Championship in 2006. [1] At the 2011 World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai, China, he competed with partner David Boudia in the synchronized 10-meter platform and finished fifth. In the 10-meter competition, he finished in sixth place. [2]
McCrory graduated from East Chapel Hill High School and from Duke University, where he won several medals at college competitions. He won the gold medal in 10-meter platform at the 2011 US National Championships at UCLA on August 14. [3] McCrory was named to CSCAA's list of the 100 Greatest Swimmers and Divers in History. [4]
He retired from diving in November 2014 to pursue medical studies. [5]
McCrory and his partner David Boudia won the bronze in the synchronized 10m platform with a total score of 463.47. [6] This was the first Olympic medal for the United States in men's diving since the 1996 games in Atlanta. He placed ninth in the men's individual 10-meter platform diving event as well. [7]
McCrory was born on August 9, 1991, in Durham, North Carolina, to Douglas and Ana McCrory. His uncle, Gordon Downie competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics. He has a younger brother, Lucas, who swims and participates in Paralympics events. [8] [9] He received his B.A. and M.D. degrees from Duke University, [10] and a Master’s in Physiology from North Carolina State University. [11]
Thomas Robert Daley is a British diver and television personality. Specialising in multiple events, he is an Olympic gold medallist in the men's synchronised 10-metre platform event at the 2020 Olympics and double world champion in the FINA 10-metre platform event, winning in 2009 at the age of fifteen, and again in 2017. He is an Olympic bronze medallist in the 2012 platform event, the 2016 synchronised event, and the 2020 platform event, making him the first British diver to win four Olympic medals. Daley also competes in team events, winning the inaugural mixed team World title in 2015. He is a one-time Olympic champion, 3-time World Champion, a 2-time junior World Champion, a 5-time European champion and 4-time Commonwealth champion.
Troy Matthew Dumais is an American competitive diver from California. Dumais has competed for the United States at four Olympic Games, winning a team bronze medal in the synchronized 3m in 2012. He attended the University of Texas at Austin.
David Alasdair Boudia is an American diver. He won the gold medal in the 10 metre platform diving competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the bronze medal in the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal with Nick McCrory in the men's synchronized 10 metre platform at the 2012 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in the same event with Steele Johnson at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Thomas Finchum is an American country musician and former platform diver. He was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic team. Finchum announced his retirement from diving in 2012. He is now pursuing a country music career.
Katinka Hosszú is a Hungarian competitive swimmer specialized in individual medley events. She is a three-time Olympic champion and a nine-time long-course world champion. Michael Hixon is an American diver. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won the silver medal with Sam Dorman in the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the silver medal with Andrew Capobianco at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the same event.
Qiu Bo is a Chinese diver. He won the silver medal in the 10 metre platform event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Germán Saúl Sánchez Sánchez is a Mexican diver. He is nicknamed "Duva". At the age of 16, he competed in the Men's individual 10m platform at the 2008 Summer Olympics and came in 22nd. He won one gold medal in the 2011 Pan-American Games. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won a silver medal in the synchronized 10m platform with his partner Iván García. In the individual 10m platform, Sánchez came 14th. In 2016, Sánchez took part in his third Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he came 5th in the synchronized 10m platform, again alongside Iván García. Twelve days later, Sánchez won the silver medal in individual 10m platform. and 9th in the semi-final. He became the third Mexican athlete to win an Olympic silver medal in Men's individual 10m platform after Joaquín Capilla (1952) and Álvaro Gaxiola (1968). He is also the only Mexican diver who has won Olympic medals in both individual and synchronized events.

He won the 10-meter platform at the 2013 USA Diving Winter Nationals, was a 15-time junior national champion, and was a four-time champion at the Junior Pan American Games.
