The diving competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place from 29 July to 11 August at the Aquatics Centre within the Olympic Park. [1] It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo and synchronised swimming.

The 2012 Games featured competitions in eight events (men and women events each of): 3m springboard, synchronised 3m springboard, 10m platform, and synchronised 10m platform. [2]

The diving featured 136 athletes representing 25 countries. [3] All divers must be at least 14 years old on or by 31 December 2012. [3]

China was the most successful nation, topping the medal table with six golds and ten in total.

Qualification

A nation could have no more than 16 divers qualify (up to eight males and eight females) and could enter up to two divers in individual events and one pair in synchronised events. [3]

Note: Qualifying spots go to the nation – they are not tied to the individual diver who achieved the place/finish at the qualifying event. However, an individual diver may only qualify one spot for their nation.

He became the country's first world junior diving champion after winning gold at the 3 m springboard event in the World Junior Championships held at Belém, Brazil in 2004. He trained under the coaching of Yang Zhuliang. Lomas is named after the footballer Bryan Robson by his father.

The Diving events at the 2015 European Games took place at the Baku Aquatics Centre, Baku from 18 to 21 June 2015. The diving competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland took place between 30 July and 2 August at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. It was one of two aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming.

Diving competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 10 to 13 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. Due to naming rights the arena were known as the latter for the duration of the games. Due to Pan American Games being scheduled to be held roughly around the same time as the 2015 World Aquatics Championships scheduled for Kazan, Russia, the diving begin on the day of the opening ceremony. A total of eight diving events were held: four each for men and women.

Eden Cheng is an English elite diver representing Great Britain and England. She won her first major medal in 2018 at the age of 15, when she won the gold medal at the European Championships in the 10 metre platform synchro with Lois Toulson.

The diving competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima took place from August 1 to 5, 2019 at the Aquatics Centre. It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo, and artistic swimming.
