Nicholas James Potts (born 17 July 2002) is an English cricketer who plays for Derbyshire. [1]
In November 2020,at the age of eighteen,Potts signed a rookie contract with Derbyshire,and had previously played for the Young Lions. [2] In August 2021,Potts signed a three-year deal with Derbyshire,after coming through the club's academy system. [3] Potts had been hampered by an ankle injury, [4] which had only allowed him to play in four matches for Derbyshire's second XI team in 2021. [3] Derbyshire's head of cricket,Dave Houghton said that Potts is a "talent for the future". [5]
In April 2022,at the start of the 2022 English cricket season,Potts played in a warm-up match for Derbyshire against Oxford University Cricket Club,as part of the Marylebone Cricket Club University Matches. [6] Potts took two wickets in the match,including that of opener Joe Gordon. [6]
Potts made his first-class debut on 14 April 2022,for Derbyshire against Sussex in Division Two of the 2022 County Championship. [7] Electing to bat first,Derbyshire made 505/8 in their innings before declaring,with Potts scoring nine runs. [7] In the next innings,Potts was the leading wicket-taker for Derbyshire,taking three wickets for 43 runs, [8] including that of the Sussex captain Tom Haines. [9] Sussex were bowled out for 174 runs and were forced to follow-on. [7] However,in their second innings,Sussex batted out a draw,making 513 runs for the loss of just three wickets. [7] Potts effected a run out,and again took the wicket of Sussex's captain,but not before Haines had made 243 runs. [10]
Rikki Clarke is a retired English cricketer,who last played for Surrey. He was educated at Broadwater School and then Godalming College. Clarke began his career as a professional cricketer with Surrey in 2000,making his list A debut in 2001 and First Class debut in 2002,and the following year made his One Day International debut for England;later in 2003 he played his first Test match. Between 2003 and 2006 he played two Tests,both against Bangladesh and 20 ODIs.

Andrew Carter is an English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-hand medium pace bowler,he began his county career with Nottinghamshire,making his first-class debut for them in June 2009. He also played on loan for Essex in 2010 and Glamorgan in 2015 while with Nottinghamshire. Carter joined Derbyshire prior to the 2016 season,but left the club later in the year. He represented England Lions in 2011.

The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season,and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship,which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six,with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90,and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.
In 2020 Kent County Cricket Club were scheduled to compete in Division One of the County Championship,the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2020 t20 Blast. However,the season was heavily disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic,with no county cricket fixtures played until August. For the shortened season,the majority of counties voted on 7 July to play first-class and Twenty20 cricket,with the Royal London One-Day Cup being cancelled. Instead of the County Championship this year,the 18 first-class counties competed for the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy,which consisted of three regional groups of six teams and a final at Lord's.
The 2021 County Championship was the 121st cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. For the first phase of the tournament,the teams were split into three groups of six,with each side playing ten matches. The top two teams from each group progressed into Division One for the second phase of the competition,with the other teams progressing to Divisions Two and Three. The team that finished top of Division One became the county champions;and the top two teams from Division One contested a five-day match at Lord's for the Bob Willis Trophy. On 17 December 2020,the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed all the fixtures for the tournament. After completion of the group stage on 14 July 2021,the ECB confirmed the fixtures for the division stage on 22 July 2021.

In 2022,Kent County Cricket Club competed in the 2022 County Championship,the 2022 One-Day Cup and the 2022 T20 Blast. The season was the sixth in charge for head coach,and former player,Matthew Walker. Sam Billings retained the club captaincy that he was first awarded in 2018. Daniel Bell-Drummond and Jack Leaning was named as vice-captains for limited overs and first-class matches,respectively.
