Nicholas John Pringle (born 20 September 1966) is a former English cricketer who played for Somerset County Cricket Club between 1986 and 1991. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler,he played 27 first-class matches and 12 List A matches during his career. He also made appearances in the Second Eleven Championship for Durham,Gloucestershire and Leicestershire.
Pringle made his first-class debut for Somerset late in the 1986 season against Worcestershire,bowling 10 overs in the first-innings without a wicket. Batting as part of the lower order,he scored 10 and 11 as Somerset lost by an innings after being forced to follow on. [1] By the time of his next appearance in the County Championship midway through the following season,Pringle was considered more of a batsman,being moved up to number five. [2] Playing back-to-back matches,Pringle enjoyed his best batting display in the next match,against Warwickshire. He scored a career-high 79,and shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 193 with Martin Crowe. [3] His final match for Somerset in August 1991 against the touring Sri Lankans.
Andrew Richard Caddick is a former cricketer who played for England as a fast bowler in Tests and ODIs. At 6 ft 5in,Caddick was a successful bowler for England for a decade,taking 13 five-wicket hauls in Test matches. He spent his entire English domestic first-class cricket career at Somerset County Cricket Club,and then played one Minor Counties match for Wiltshire in 2009.
Philip John Newport is a former English first-class cricketer,who played primarily as a seam and swing bowler. Newport was a stalwart of Worcestershire County Cricket Club for most of the 1980s and 1990s,and played a key part in the county's triumphs in the late 1980s. Newport played in three Test matches for England between 1988 and 1991. He was born at High Wycombe in 1962.
Lionel Charles Hamilton Palairet was an English amateur cricketer who played for Somerset and Oxford University. A graceful right-handed batsman,he was selected to play Test cricket for England twice in 1902. Contemporaries judged Palairet to have one of the most attractive batting styles of the period. His obituary in The Times described him as "the most beautiful batsman of all time". An unwillingness to tour during the English winter limited Palairet's Test appearances;contemporaries believed he deserved more Test caps.
Daryl Keith Henry Mitchell is an English former first-class cricketer. Primarily a right-handed batsman who often opened the innings,Mitchell also bowled right-arm medium pace. He played for Worcestershire. He was appointed vice-captain for the 2010 season,and made captain when Vikram Solanki resigned in mid-August.
Nicholas Richard Denis Compton is a South African-born English former Test and first-class cricketer who most recently played for Middlesex County Cricket Club. The grandson of Denis Compton,he represented England in 16 Test matches.
Norman Stewart "Mandy" Mitchell-Innes was an amateur cricketer for Somerset,who played in one Test match for England in 1935. Between 1931 and 1949 Mitchell-Innes played 132 first-class matches,appearing 69 times for Somerset,and 43 times for Oxford University. In these matches he scored 6,944 runs,including 13 centuries and a top score of 207. He was well-regarded for the grace of his batting,but his cricket career was limited by both hay fever and his overseas work commitments.
Herbert Tremenheere Hewett was an English amateur first-class cricketer who played for Somerset,captaining the county from 1889 to 1893,as well as Oxford University and the Marylebone Cricket Club. A battling left-handed opening batsman,Hewett could post a large score in a short time against even the best bowlers. Capable of hitting the ball powerfully,he combined an excellent eye with an unorthodox style to be regarded at his peak as one of England's finest batsmen.
Michael Burns is an English first-class list cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer who played county cricket for Warwickshire and Somerset in a first-class career which spanned from 1992 until 2005. He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. An adaptable cricketer,he appeared for Cumberland and Warwickshire as a wicket-keeper,but when he moved to Somerset he developed into an aggressive batsman who bowled at medium-pace when needed.
Charles Victor Tarbox,sometimes known as "Percy" (2 July 1891 –15 June 1978) was an English cricketer who played over 200 first-class games for Worcestershire in the 1920s. He also played at minor counties level for Hertfordshire,and later still stood as a first-class umpire in both England and South Africa. Tarbox's career statistics were fairly modest,but as his obituary in Wisden noted,he frequently chipped in with a few useful runs or wickets,valuable commodities for the generally weak Worcestershire sides of the day.
Edward Sainsbury was an English cricketer who represented,and captained,Somerset County Cricket Club in the late 19th century. During a 10-year first-class cricket career,he also represented Gloucestershire and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

Luke Anthony Procter is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler who captains Northamptonshire in first-class cricket.
Manek Pallon Bajana was an Indian amateur cricketer who played 55 first-class cricket matches between 1911 and 1920. Originally a member of the Indian team which toured England in 1911,he remained in the country and joined Somerset County Cricket Club,for which he played as an opening batsman until 1920. During his nine-year first-class cricket career,Bajana scored 1,975 runs at an average of 20.78. He scored three centuries,and made his highest score in 1920,scoring 115 runs against Cambridge University.
Julian George Wyatt is a former cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club between 1983 and 1989. Wyatt was born in 1963 at Paulton,Somerset and educated at Wells Cathedral School.
Gary Vincent Palmer played first-class and List A cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club from 1982 to 1989. He also played for the England Young Cricketers side in both under-19 Test and One-day International matches. He was born at Taunton,Somerset and is the son of the former Somerset and England Test cricketer Ken Palmer.
Sophie Jane Le Marchand is an English cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper batsman. She is currently part of the England women's academy,having previously represented her country at Under-21 level. A right-handed batsman,she has played for Somerset since 2008.
