The Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission (HRTAC) is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States that has the responsibility for funding several major traffic projects in the Hampton Roads area. It was created by the Virginia General Assembly in 2014 to maintain and administer the Hampton Roads Transportation Fund,a trust fund established by the Virginia General Assembly through a 0.7% increase in the state sales and use tax and a 2.1% increase in the fuel tax region-wide. During this time,she created the first Regional Connectivity Study in Virginia that correlated transportation decisions with workforce,business expansion and recruitment and investment,covering eight modes of transportation. Her legislative priorities focused on transportation,economic development,education,and ethics. She led bipartisan efforts to create transparent government,expand clean energy production,and invest in intercity passenger rail service for the first time in Virginia's history. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

James Craig Taylor was a Virginia lawyer,newspaper publisher and politician who became the Attorney General of Virginia as Congressional Reconstruction ended. After serving in the Confederate States Army and the Virginia Senate (1863–1865),James C. Taylor won the first statewide postwar election on July 6,1869,defeating Thomas R. Bowden who had won election four years earlier when many former Confederates were precluded from voting,or chose not to vote. Taylor later won election to the Virginia House of Delegates and served part-time for one term before losing to the man he had defeated.
Jennifer Denise Carroll Foy is an American lawyer and politician. A member of the Democratic Party,she is a public defender by occupation. Carroll Foy was elected to represent Virginia's 2nd House of Delegates district in 2017,which covers parts of Prince William County and Stafford County in Northern Virginia. In December 2020,she resigned from the House of Delegates,in order to focus on her campaign for Governor of Virginia in 2021. She lost in the Democratic primary,placing second behind Terry McAuliffe. She was the 2023 Democratic nominee for State Senate in Virginia's 33rd Senate district,winning the race with nearly 63% of the vote.
