Nicholas Alexander Warren (born 26 June 1982) is a former English cricketer who played a number of senior games for Warwickshire County Cricket Club between 2002 and 2005,although he made his List A debut for the Warwickshire Cricket Board side in 2001. He was a right-handed batsman and his bowling style was right arm fast-medium. He was born in Moseley,Birmingham.
He was said to have shown potential in the England Under 17 team against Ireland in 1999, [1] and he went on to tour Malaysia with the Under 19's,and played in the Youth World Cup in Sri Lanka during 1999–2000. While in the England A cricket team,his Youth Test debut came in 2002 against West Indies A.
However,Warren's career appeared to be on the verge of decline when his contract at Warwickshire was ended in 2003. During his fight to keep his place,he missed three months of play due to a stress-fracture of the spine in 2004. However a run of 'impressive performances' [1] earned him a renewal on his contract,in which he played Northamptonshire in the Frizzell County Championship,taking three wickets for one run in ten balls. [2]
Warren did not hold down his place,however,and did not appear for the first team after the 2005 season.
Marcus Edward Trescothick is an English former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club, and represented England in 76 Test matches and 123 One Day Internationals. He was Somerset captain from 2010 to 2016 and temporary England captain for several Tests and ODIs. Since retirement he has commentated and coached at both county and international level.
Ashley Fraser Giles is a former English first-class cricketer, who played 54 Test matches and 62 One Day Internationals for England before being forced to retire due to a recurring hip injury. Giles played the entirety of his 14-year first-class career at Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
Nicholas Verity Knight is an English cricket commentator and former England cricketer. A left-handed opening batsman and a fine fielder, Knight played in 17 Test Matches and 100 One Day Internationals before announcing his retirement from international cricket after the 2003 World Cup.
Ian Ronald Bell is an English former cricketer who played international cricket in all formats for the England cricket team and county cricket for Warwickshire County Cricket Club. A right-handed higher/middle order batsman, described in The Times as an "exquisite rapier," with a strong cover drive, Bell was also an occasional right-arm medium pace bowler and a slip fielder. He was also noted for his sharp reflexes and often fielded in close catching positions. He scored twenty-two Test centuries and four One Day International (ODI) 100s.
Edmund "Ed" Christopher Joyce is an Irish cricket coach and former cricketer who played for both the Ireland and England national cricket teams. After beginning his career with Middlesex, he moved to Sussex in 2009, before returning to Ireland to play for Leinster Lightning in the fledgling first-class competition, the Irish Inter-Provincial Championship. A left-handed batsman and occasional right-arm bowler of medium pace, Joyce is widely regarded as one of the best cricketers produced by Ireland.
Christopher Timothy Tremlett is a former English cricketer who played international cricket for England and domestically for Hampshire and Surrey. He was a 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 m) tall fast-medium bowler able to extract bounce on most surfaces. Tremlett started his playing career with Hampshire in 2000 and was awarded his county cap in 2004. He made his One Day International debut in 2005, and two years later played his first Test. Tremlett played three Tests in 2007 before injury interrupted.
Ian Jonathan Leonard Trott is a South African-born English former professional cricketer who played international cricket for the England cricket team and is the current head coach of the Afghanistan cricket team. Domestically, he played for Warwickshire County Cricket Club as well as playing in South Africa and New Zealand. He was ICC and ECB Cricketer of the Year in 2011.
