Nico Cartosio (born Nicola Cartosia, May 5, 1978) is a contemporary classical composer and producer.
In 1996, because of his parents’ will, Cartosio entered the Faculty of Journalism. After graduation for a long time, his career was related to the media industry. From 2000 to 2012 he worked as an editor, editor-in-chief, copywriter and scriptwriter. [1] Also he directed several documentaries [2] (оne of them is dedicated to the famous Russian-Jewish exiled poet Joseph Brodsky, Nobel laureate in Literature 1987) and wrote soundtracks.
In 2016, he decided to return to his favorite passion, music, and began to prepare for the release of his first album. [3] [4]
The debut album "Melting" was released in April 2019. [5] It included eight instrumental compositions and one album cover song. Nico recorded this song together with Angelina Jordan, the finalist America's Got Talent: The Champions. The album was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London with the participation of the orchestra, whose musicians worked on the best soundtracks of Hollywood films, conductor Gavin Greenaway (the permanent conductor of the Hans Zimmer Show Orchestra) and soloists John Mills (Violin) and John Lenehan (Piano) got involved. The album reached number 13 on the Billboard “Classical Crossover Albums” chart and number 18 on the “Classical Albums” world chart. [7]
A single,"Christmas On The Moon", was released in 2018. [8]
In June 2024 Nico presented a new symphonic program «In the beginning was the water». By invitation of the Venice Conservatory and with the support of the Ugo and Olga Levi Foundation, the concert was held in Venice's oldest hall, the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista. [9] [10]

Nico is also well known to the press for his song's videos. [11] [12] They always tell stories and contain many meanings and images. The video has repeatedly received awards at international festivals. [13]

Frederick Rousseau, a famous musician who make covers to popular melodies with LED visualization, selected Nico's first album compositions twice for his work: Melting in 2019 [18] and Girl on an iceberg in 2021. [19]
Ryuichi Sakamoto was a Japanese composer, pianist, record producer, and actor who pursued a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO). With his bandmates Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi, Sakamoto influenced and pioneered a number of electronic music genres.

Takanori Arisawa was a Japanese composer and arranger best known for composing the Sailor Moon and Digimon anime series. He wrote music for the series, including its video games. Born in Tokyo, Arisawa began to learn piano at the age of 20. After graduating from Senzoku Gakuen College, Arisawa started his career in 1980 by composing "Shinjuku Transfer". He worked for the Tokyo Broadcasting System and wrote several TV dramas. From the 1990s until his death, Arisawa began composing for anime series exclusively. His work on Sailor Moon was initially based on pop music, but gradually began to change to those found in classical music. Sailor Moon was successful and Arisawa won several awards for his work. After Sailor Moon, Arisawa composed music for several shows, including the Digimon series, until his death from bladder cancer in 2005.
Bryce David Dessner is an American composer and guitarist based in Paris, and a member of the rock band the National. Dessner's twin brother, Aaron is also a member of the group. Together, they write the music in collaboration with lead singer and lyricist Matt Berninger.

Dance Music is the soundtrack album by Welsh multi-instrumentalist John Cale composed for a ballet about Nico performed by the dancers of Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. The music was played by Ice Nine. The choreography of Scapino Ballet was conceived and directed by Ed Wubbe. The premiere took place in Rotterdam on 4 October 1997. Most of the songs were performed by a nine-piece ensemble Ice Nine,. "Nibelungen" is a track that Cale arranged for Nico's The Marble Index album.
