Nigerian British University is a private co-educational Nigerian university owned and operated by the Adorable Foundation for Educational Development in Nigeria. The university is located in Asa, Abia State, Nigeria. [1] [2]
Nigerian British University was established by the Adorable Foundation for Educational Development to deliver global methods in education through the development of technology in teaching and learning experiences. [3]
The university was approved by the National Universities Commission to operate as a Private University in Nigeria in April 2022 under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration. [4] [5]
The university was commissioned by Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia state in February, 2023. The governor further awarded scholarships to the first twenty students of the university. [6]
The Pro-Chancellor/Chairman, Board of Trustees and Governing Council of Nigerian British University is Dr. Chukwuemeka Umeoji. [7]
The faculty houses the following departments, Department of Computer Science, Department of Information System, Department of Software Engineering, Department of Cyber Security, and Department of Data Science.

Prof. Hakeem Fawehinmi was appointed the first substantive vice chancellor of the university. His five-year term began on April 3, 2023. [10]
Abia State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The state is bordered to the northwest by Anambra State and to the northeast by the states of Enugu and Ebonyi, Imo State to the west, Cross River State to the east, Akwa Ibom State to the southeast, and Rivers State to the south. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions. The board conducts Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for prospective undergraduates into Nigerian universities. The board is also charged with the responsibility to administer similar examinations for applicants to Nigerian public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of educations. All of these candidates must have obtained the West Africa Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) conducted yearly by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, or its equivalent, National Examination Council (Nigeria), Senior School Certificate Examination, NECO SSCE.
The University of Port Harcourt is a public research university located in Aluu and Choba, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. It was established in 1975 as University College, Port Harcourt and was given university status in 1977. The University of Port Harcourt was ranked the sixth in Africa and the first in Nigeria by Times Higher Education in 2015. In July 2021, Owunari Georgewill was appointed substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Adamawa State Polytechnic is a tertiary educational institution in Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. It was established in 1991 through a merger of the College of Preliminary Studies Yola and the Staff Development Institute, Numan. The new polytechnic provides national diploma programs in computer science, statistics, accountancy, business studies and secretarial studies. Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo also known as FCE OYO was established on 5 October 1977, as Federal Advanced Teacher's college (Special). The institution, according to a UNDP/UNESCO 1996 report (NIR/87/008) "... Has the best qualify Staff in Special Education not only in Nigeria but in West, North, East and Central Africa." The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. It has the largest conglomeration of disabled students that could be found in any Higher Institution in Nigeria and the largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of the Handicapped in Nigeria. During its 40th anniversary celebration, the college gave special recognition award to former President Olusegun Obasanjo whose military administration brought about the upgrading of the Institution from the then Federal Advanced Teachers College to a College of Education with the mandate to award the National Certificate of Education (NCE) in 1977.
