Nicolas van Sprang (born 14 June 1993) is a Dutch rower. He competed in the men's coxless pair at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Rowing with Guillaume Krommenhoek, the pair finishing 7th overall, winning the B final. [2]
Waalwijk is a municipality and a city in the southern Netherlands. It had a population of 48,815 in 2021 and is located near the A59 and N261 motorways. The villages of Capelle, Vrijhoeve-Capelle, Sprang and Waspik together with the city of Waalwijk form the municipality of Waalwijk. The city has an old town center, which has recently been modernized.
The men's coxed pair was one of the competitions in the Rowing at the 1900 Summer Olympics events in Paris. It was held on 25 August and 26 August 1900. 7 boats, involving 22 rowers from 3 nations, competed. The event was won by a mixed team; Minerva Amsterdam's Dutch crew replaced its coxswain with a local French boy for the final. François Brandt and Roelof Klein were the rowers, with Hermanus Brockmann the cox in the semifinals; the French cox is unknown. Second and third places both went to French boats; Société nautique de la Marne took silver while Rowing Club Castillon earned bronze.
The men's coxed pair event was part of the rowing programme at the 1920 Summer Olympics. The competition was held on 28 and 29 August 1920. It was the second appearance of the event, which had previously been held only at the inaugural rowing competitions in 1900. Four boats, each from a different nation, competed. The event was won by the Italian boat in that nation's debut in the event, with Ercole Olgeni and Giovanni Scatturin the rowers and Guido De Felip the coxswain. France's crew took silver, the second consecutive silver for France. Switzerland earned bronze.
David C D Calder is a Canadian rower. A four-time Olympian, he is a 2008 Olympics silver medallist in the men's coxless pair rowing event along with Scott Frandsen.

Grace Elizabeth Prendergast is a former New Zealand sweep rower. She is a 15-time national champion in the premier category, an Olympic champion, a five-time world champion and the current (2022) world champion in the coxless pair. She grew up in Christchurch, where she started rowing for the Avon Rowing Club in 2007. She competed at the Tokyo Olympics in two boat classes and won gold in the coxless pair and a silver in the eight and set a new world's best time in the pair. Various parties, including the World Rowing Federation, expected her to win medals in Tokyo. She was the highest ranked female rower in the world twice in a row in 2019 and 2021. Since 2014, her rowing partner in the coxless pair has been Kerri Gowler. Prendergast is also a Boat Race winner, having competed as part of Cambridge University Boat Club's (CUBC) women's crew in 2022. She retired from professional rowing in October 2022.
Lucas Theodoor Dirk Uittenbogaard is a Dutch representative rower. He is a European champion, an Olympic gold and bronze medallist and is the reigning world champion in the men's quad scull won at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. He won a bronze medal in the eight at the 2015 World Rowing Championships and competed in the men's eight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, winning a bronze medal. In the Dutch men's quad scull at Tokyo 2020 he won an Olympic gold medal and set a new world's best time for that event.
Thomas James Murray is a New Zealand rower. Born and raised in Blenheim, he is a member of New Zealand's national rowing team and has competed in the eight and in the coxless pair. In the smaller boat, he has medalled in two World Rowing Championships; bronze in 2017 and silver in 2019. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, he competed with the eight and won gold in the same boat class at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Murray has won four consecutive premier national titles in the coxless pair. He has been world champion in age group rowing events three times.
The men's coxless pair (M2-) competition at the 1984 Summer Olympics took place at Lake Casitas in Ventura County, California, United States. It was held from 30 July to 5 August and the outcome was wide open due to the Eastern Bloc boycott and thus the absence of the dominating team from East Germany. The event was won by the team from Romania.
The men's coxed pair competition at the 1968 Summer Olympics took place at Virgilio Uribe Rowing and Canoeing Course, in the Xochimilco borough of Mexico City. It was held from 13 to 19 October. There were 18 boats from 18 nations, with each nation limited to a single boat in the event. The event was won by the Italian crew, rowers Primo Baran and Renzo Sambo and coxswain Bruno Cipolla; it was Italy's first victory in the event since 1920 and second overall. The Netherlands made the podium for the second consecutive Games, though with an all-new team: Herman Suselbeek, Hadriaan van Nes, and cox Roderick Rijnders took silver. A Danish boat medaled in the event for the first time since 1952, with Jørn Krab, Harry Jørgensen, and Preben Krab earning bronze. The American medal streak of three Games ended with the United States boat placing fifth.
Joshua Hicks is an Australian representative rower. He is an Olympian and a two-time world champion who won gold in the coxless four at the 2017 World Rowing Championships and defended that title at Plovdiv in 2018. He competed in the Australian men's coxless pair at Tokyo 2021.
Hans van Walsem was a Dutch rower. He competed in the men's coxed pair event at the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was killed in the Neuengamme concentration camp during World War II.

Guillaume Krommenhoek is a Dutch rower. After he quit his American Football career he started rowing in 2015 at students rowing association A.A.S.R. Skoll. He competed in the men's coxless pair at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Currently he is the stroke of the men's eight that won a silver medal at the 2022 World Rowing Championships. He is preparing to compete in his second consecutive Olympics in Paris in 2024.
Sander de Graaf is a Dutch rower. He won a gold medal at the 2020 European Championships and competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, both in the men's coxless four events.
Tom Mackintosh is a New Zealand rower. He is currently a single sculler, and is the reigning world bronze medal holder, a feat achieved in his debut season in the class. Mackintosh is also a reigning olympic champion, but in the sweep discipline, having won a gold medal in the eight in his Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. Off the water, Mackintosh is also a public speaker and entrepreneur.
