Nine Girls and a Ghost is a 2002 comedy film, filmed in Cantonese, in which a girl receives a Daihatsu Mira Gino that Marco, a ghost, possesses.
Kaka and her group of friends, consisting of nine girls are high school students that rely on other people to do stuff for them such as doing their homework, and cheating on a test. Kaka received a car from her parents, which was later discovered to be haunted by a twenty-three year old ghost named Marco. He was killed in a car accident. Originally, she asked him to help her and her friends to cheat through school, which Marco reluctantly does. Still, he later teaches them that they should rely on themselves rather than others. Kaka and Marco soon fall in love but unfortunately, he could only exist for so long before his soul disappears.

The movie shows the characters either as young adults or as real adults who won't grow up. In this film, men often play female roles, with squeaky voices dubbed over the men's voices. Darna Mana Hai is a 2003 Indian Hindi-language anthology horror film. The film consists of six different short stories. Upon release it met with extremely negative response, despite that it was a cult classic movie. Later in 2006 Ram Gopal Varma, the producer, spawned Darna Zaroori Hai, a sequel with a different ensemble cast, six new cinematographers, seven different directors. Only Rajpal Yadav and director Prawaal Raman were back from the previous installment. Darna Mana Hai has been dubbed and released in Telugu with the same title.
